For a hip hop fan, "Hurricane" is his most accessible song by current standards and "Subterranean Homesick Blues" sounds a little like an early predecessor to rap. If you like what you hear with those two songs, I'd recommend any of the mid to late 60s or 70s albums like Bringing it All Back Home, Highway 61 Revisited, Blonde on Blonde and Desire. I'd probably tell her to avoid the early stuff as it's based heavily in a pure folk sound (solo acoustic with a prominent Woody Guthrie influence) and would be likely to turn her off from Dylan if it was the first thing she heard. The early albums I'm talking about would be: Bob Dylan,Freewheelin', The Times They Are A-Changin' and Another Side of Bob Dylan. All of those are great as well, but would be a bit jarring for someone who's used to rhythmic music where bass and the beat are key elements. Anyway...just try out some Dylan, and if you like it, explore his entire catalogue. No need to limit yourself to just a few songs.

i actually don't know much about mr. strummer, we're on the same movie forum and i found out he really likes music and has an extensive knowledge of the same so i thought he'd make a good addition...i warned him about the predominately teenage membership and our affinity for cussing... ( just so the lad doesn't have a cultural shock, the movie forum we're on is quite the opposite )

Bringing it All Back Home. I also want to give a shout to the greatly underrated Bob Dylan. Sure it's mostly covers and traditional songs, but it's undeniable that he owns the material, and really knows what to do with it.
