I guess I am up for adoption, but I'm a little unsure what the point is. What can a mentor do for me? Take the blame if I screw around on the forums?

Then it's a bit like master students, you know. If they do well on their thesis, they get creds and prestige. If they do bad, the supervisor gets the blame.

If it's like that, then I got nothing to lose. I'm game!
