Default the name is Homes, Arty Homes

Yo,
My name is Arty Homes. Y'all can call me Art tho. I'm a drummer, and a photographer. The only things I love more than music and my drum set, is probably my dog, or girls. Most of my friends are musicians too. I've been in several bands with them since I was just a wee lad, but none really took off (oh well). Mostly I just jam with my friends now. But if you really wanna know what my life is like on the Jersey Shore, go to youtube and type in 33 newland sessions. Im always down for a chat about music, any kind, any genre, any artist. Or just a chat about anything. get at me on here or on AIM artybear69 hope to hear from some peeps.

Default lol

I have favorites but I could go on for days and days. if i had to limit myself to two genres, id say ska and rap. an odd combo, I know, but music is music, and thats what I like. I love jazz too, because the drum style is intricate and very complex. but i still love the other genres too, and that includes country, but if im going to go in the twang direction i'd prefer bluegrass because the banjo is AWESOME and anyone who can play it deserves MAD respect. =D

Stage Custom is a nice set. For the low price it is definitely the best out of the related sets (Pearl Forum, Ludwig 5 Piece...etc). And if I were you I would go with a DW set. Everything that company makes is ****ing great. I have gotten all my equipment from them for years, and it sounds great/does not break.

Another thing I would consider is just upgrading your set. You would be surprised how much better a kit can sound when the better drum heads are put on, tuned to perfection, and with some added cymbals/drums. I say this because the stage custom Snare/Toms are actually pretty good quality and will sound good for a long time. Keep them and all your cymbals (moving them around to fit new ones) and get a new Hi-Hat and new Single/Double bass.

I did that with my first set (Pearl Forum) and it lasted me 8 years because I upgraded it so much. The result being I had a very decent kit for ALOT less the money than a new one would run me. Costs me 600$ new, spent 300$ on extra stuff, and then sold it for 600$ 8 years later.

Thank you for the welcome.

and yeah I enjoy my stage custom (her name is black betty....get it? wham ba lam.^^) anyways, ive had her for about 7 years now, I gotta retire her. She's seen many a stage, and taken quite a beating from me over the years....literally. DW is what im leaning to more, but gretsch does AWESOME jazz kits that you can upgrade the funk outta. it's kinda a toss up for me.
