Hello everyone. I'm actually registering here to ask what is hopefully the first of many questions about making music...And since I have no clue where to post that question I'll post it here. If you want you can point me in the right direction

The question is: what do I need to start making music? Since I don't write music(and can barely write in English) how do I get the beats out of my head and onto a CD, or computer???

An example would be the band, Natalie Portman's Shaved Head (who's url I can't post) What all are they using? If I could get a sound like that, but way heavier, and with lyrics that mean something, I'd be real happy.

I have an acoustic and electric guitar but what else...synthesizer?, Keyboard?, software?

Oh and my favorite music isss:

90's alternative rock, especially Sound Garden
Queen, I was raised on them/my father worships them
NIN, not really anything after With Teeth but the rest is gold
AAF, their best album is TRUant, this is not opinion
I like me some metal mainly heavy and medieval sounding guitar like Jim Groce does.
....and 80's pop...

so what does anyone think? did you check their NPSH's myspace? do they use a synthesizer?
