Hi there

Hi my name is chris. I pretty much like all music but the old stuff like iron maiden, AC DC are my favourites but i listen to a wide range of music

Guybrush 04-30-2009 04:40 AM

Hey Chris .. So are there any genres you prefer? Hard Rock? Metal?

Where do you come from?

Davies86 04-30-2009 05:09 AM

Im from North Wales but live in Liverpool now. I find it hard to keep up with all the genres to be honest. My little cousin comes up with new ones everyday.

I like classic rock mainly which i think is classed as hard rock i believe. Iron Maiden being my favourite. I also like mainstream music too but thats normally becasue it gets in your head and it is easy listening not because you actually appreciate what they are trying to say.

Guybrush 04-30-2009 05:21 AM

I know what you mean about the genres .. I'm most into hard rock, prog rock and metal, but I prefer to keep it at that and not get too specific.

By the way, this might seem a little weird, but since you're from north Wales .. I' from Norway and I plan on vacating to Wales/England with some friends this summer. We want to go on a boat rental trip on the Llangollen canal. However, I've been a little uncertain about the weather .. Do you know if it's usually nice there around the first week in august? ;)

Davies86 04-30-2009 05:40 AM

the weather in Britain is generally poor to be honest! It changes day by day. We have already had a week of sunshine so that is normally all we get haha. We are promised a good summer so I would say that the chances are higher than normal.

Ive never been on the canal in LLangollen even though I live quite near there, well used too. Llangollen it self is a nice place to visit.

I quite enjoy going to the lake district for boat trips but that is very diffierent to a canal trip. Will you be living on the boat yes?

Guybrush 04-30-2009 05:56 AM

Yup, we'll be living on the boat which is a crucial part of our plan as we are all relatively poor students and need to cut down on living costs. The vacation seems perfect to me, but weather could really make or break it so it's my only worry!

Other than that, I've been to England a few times and have a deep-set fondness for many english things. I'm sure I'll love it in Wales as well :D

Davies86 04-30-2009 05:59 AM

Wales is pretty. North Wales is not as spoilt as south wales so you will see the natural beauty of the landscape.

What towns can you travel too on the boat or how far are you allowed to go? Can you go as far as chester?

Guybrush 04-30-2009 06:11 AM

I'm not 100% sure where it takes you yet, but one of the guides say you'll get to Whitchurch, Ellesmere, Chirk, Llangollen .. I don't think you get to Chester, but perhaps to Barbridge?

Davies86 04-30-2009 08:40 AM

Yup i have been to all those places that should be a nice relaxing time and i have heard drinking on a boat is pretty good although i have never tried it myself.

I hope wales gives a good impression of itself

Thanks! I have tried canal boating once before in England. We spent one week canal boating and then 1 week in the south, visiting Cornwall and so on. We had perfect summer weather, hot and with blue skies .. The week we had on that boat was absolute bliss. Perhaps my best vacation ever!

Thanks for the info by the way and as far as I know, I think Wales will be very good :) Sheep pastures, sun (please!), beer and good food makes me a happy man.

Haha Thanks for your welcome, I am of the belief they do not create bands like that anymore. I suppose beacuse all of the boundaries have all ready been pushed

I can guarantee the sheep but not the sun! Its because we have a hilly terrain. I would advise that you are most likely going to have one day of rain. Its the welsh way. But i dont think that will matter because the views will be awesome and the welsh charachters will keep you entertained.

I have never been to cornwall but i have heard great things.

I like the idea of going on canal trips in foreign countries with a few mates.. a bit diffierent than just going to spain for a week

Thanks 333 and chillicoldblood

One question how come it says I have only made one post?

You don't get post count for posting in the lounge section of the forums .. You need to get out there. :)

(I can recommend the editor's pick and members journals if you're looking for new music and inspiration)

Davies86 05-01-2009 04:31 AM

ah i see. i only ask because that was baffling me. ill get myself out there now!

coryallen2 05-01-2009 06:43 AM

Dang Tore I did'nt know that! If they were counted i would probably have like 2000 posts. HAHA good information man.
