Default Yo MusicBanter.

Yo people of MusicBanter. I'm Shawn. I listen to literally all types of music. My favorite genres are, Metal (Doom/Sludge/Stoner being my favorite.) Punk (Hardcore post-punk (bands like Wire.), and Country music (Outlaw, alt-country, gothic-country. Not Pop-Country.) I'm really into experimental stuff, the more weird and crazy the better. I dig a lot of Indie/Twee stuff. So yeah, I'm really open minded when it comes to listening to new music. I don't only dig those genres up there, by the way. I'm open to Hip-Hop, Blues, Classical, so on, literally anything I'll give a chance.

So yeah, name is Shawn, I'm 15 and dig all kinds of music. This site seems pretty cool in terms of musical discussion comparing to a lot of sites out there, so I guess I'll stick around a while.

Can ya name some bands other than Wire? I'm really curious as to what else you might listen to.

Ahhh, My Bloody Valentine, The Residents, Scratch Acid (David Yow is ****ing awesome), Pavement, Sonic Youth, The Velvet Underground, Boris, Flipper, all great bands. I'm more into the independent and experimental scenes, but we do have a bunch of members with a love of Metal (Jackhammer mostly) and Country. We rarely ever get new members with this good of taste, please stay.

so you like burzum? i find that music actually really well composed, but i find myself feeling guilty for listening to it considering varg's personal views. i guess it's not too bad in the music, though, since it is all mainly about celebrating paganism.

Thanks, LLSS. Yeah I'm gonna stick around a while.
Thanks Bandteacher.

Yeah Duga, I like him. I dont let the lyrical content/persons views of things making the music stand in my way of liking it. I'm listening for the music itself not to support the views of the person. Although I do see what you're saying and why some people probably don't listen to music because of content. Most people wouldn't know what Vargs views were if it werent for his interviews and things. Based solely on his music, most people would never know, I know I wouldnt. His lyrical content is supposedly, more fantasy and folklore than anything.

Welcome man, you like sludge? You might like "Lhasa". They're kind of hard to find, but I had this upped:
