Hello. How 'bout that ride in? I guess that's why they call it Sin City. Ha.

Hi. I'm Jordan. I'm 19, a student at Michigan State University and the proud owner of a vagina. Even if my name suggests otherwise.

I'm accustomed to being kidnapped at 11:30 on Monday nights.
I don't get along with people who "don't really listen to music."
I like trespassing and climbing things, cameras upon cameras, long drives with the windows down and the music blaring.

I'm currently listening to "A Pain That I'm Used To" by Depeche Mode.

Some of my favorites include:
Alkaline Trio; Brand New; City and Colour; Dandy Warhols; Dashboard Confessional; Dropkick Murphys; Ellie Goulding; The Empties; Flogging Molly; Florence and the Machine; The Honorary Title; Hot Hot Heat; Jack's Mannequin;Kate Nash; The Killers; Kings of Leon; Lady Gaga; Less Than Jake; The Mad Caddies; Motion City Soundtrack; Muse; Passion Pit; Phoenix; Ra Ra Riot; Red Hot Chili Peppers; Reel Big Fish; The Strokes; Unicorn Kid; We Are Scientists; Weezer.

I love mash-ups and cheesy pop songs. And I refuse to take music too seriously.

I would love to get to know you. [:

I refuse to take music too seriously.

Does not compute.

Sincerely Yours 03-06-2010 08:55 PM

Haha. Good point.
I guess when I say I don't take music too seriously I mean that I listen to crappy pop music, but I also listen to things that have substance and are more complicated than a few lines repeating the same nonsense over and over.
But I've noticed that people who never listen to music bore me. One of my roommates is like that and I can only talk to her for about 3 minutes without getting distracted. She's a sweetheart, but still.

I don't know what to make of this, but...I totally get what you are saying.

Edit: I just remembered why I visited this thread. Nice Hangover reference....you earned some points with that one.

anticipation 03-07-2010 02:23 PM

welcome, now that you're here...

but somebody please close the door to michigan.

Sincerely Yours 03-07-2010 02:45 PM

Hahaha. Holy hate for Michigan, Batman. I'm definitely NOT a huge fan of it, but out of curiosity, why is everyone so anti-MI? I feel like I'm missing something.

anticipation 03-07-2010 02:50 PM

i'm from illinois so i have an inherent, undying hate for michigan.

Oh, like everyone's hate for Indiana in MI? Because it's terrible. Except for the fact that you can get cheap cigs and fireworks. Illinois is pretty legit though. But mostly because you have Chicago.

And if it helps any, I'm planning on moving to AZ as soon as I graduate.

For my part, I was just being cheeky. I'd say Michigan is a fine state...if I'd ever been there.

Hahaha. I figured. I guess I harbor more a hate for my home town because it's so ri****ulously boring. There's literally nothing to do. Its only redeeming quality is that it smells like fruity pebbles or fruit loops at least once a week.
I absolutely adore East Lansing tho. But it's a college town, so that's a bit different.
I can't say much for Detroit because I'm only ever there to fly.

And I can guess that you're an Alice fan?

The book, yes, (and sure, I'll admit to watching the Disney movie a few to many times). Can't say either way for the new movie. I haven't seen it, but based on the previews, it looks like utter crap.

Sincerely Yours 03-07-2010 03:41 PM

SATCHMO: OH MY GOD YES!!! Seriously. I'm the same way. The book is incredible and I love just how creepy and nonsensical it is. And I am in love with the Disney movie.

I thought I was going to hate the movie, and I was really upset that they made it look like it was ALL about Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter (even though I love him). But I took my little brother to see it, and I actually kind of liked it. I thought it was a decent extension of the book, but for obvious reasons less nonsensical.

I'd say among college sport fans in Indiana, Michigan is like the 7th level of hell.

anticipation 03-07-2010 03:51 PM

michigan city, indiana = worst city in the universe?

yeah, i'd say so.

simplephysics 03-07-2010 03:57 PM

Almost as bad as Kansas City, Missouri.. or Gary.

Sincerely Yours 03-07-2010 04:08 PM

Hahaha. You guys are so intense. It's kind of amazing.

Once my friend detoured us into Gary and we got lost there. Scariest moment of my life...and I've been to shady parts of Chicago.

I know what you mean. Winter/almost spring here is nasty.

Sincerely Yours 03-09-2010 03:06 PM

So. I love conversations that should be awkward because of the topic, but aren't because neither of you give a ****.

Arya Stark 03-09-2010 03:45 PM

?

Sincerely Yours 03-09-2010 04:23 PM

Haha.
I was just having the weirdest conversation ever. Like most people with social boundaries would be appalled that we were talking about it.
But we're creepers, so it worked out well.

Arya Stark 03-09-2010 04:38 PM

Good then. xD
It's a warm welcome. Hahaha.

Sure, if your idea of cool is getting shot, raped, robbed, and left for dead face down in a ditch with a meth head butt****ing your corpse.

It's not that bad, white boy. She's not from the bad parts.
