Default Hey all,

Hello my name is Jason, I'm a 28yo Australian and I am addicted to music. (aren't we all)

I am known online as "The 13th" which is actually a very short and uninteresting story (basically its my D.O.B.).

I have a huge range of musical tastes, I'm not a huge fan of beatles music but do respect what they've done for the industry. I was always a huge fan of Michael Jackson's music but could never decide what I thought of him as an artist. I'm a massive Alice Cooper fan and have been ever since I was a kid, I love heavy metal and I love the softest of ballads. I cant say I'm a big fan of country music also can't stand listening to ABBA.

As I said I have a very wide range of musical tastes, I consider myself fairly normal in that way though I know some of my dislikes arent exactly popular opinion. Personally I actually do sing, I'm a tenor who sings by ear, I also do acting and to date this has usually been expressed through theatre.

Currently considering doing some recording of my own and researching the equipment I would need to record my own singing through my PC whilst developing my sound. Its all hypothetical at this stage of course but I've been asked why I dont try it enough times that its got me wondering..

So my main interests forum wise is recording equipment and general talk and discussion, have no intention of posting any work of my own (assuming that it ever happens, which it may not)

Welcome

I had a good laugh at your disliking of ABBA. I pretty much said "don't we all" then I remembered my Mother and all the people that went to see Mamma Mia.

Another actor here! Welcome, welcome!

Can't say I've got a very good idea of your musical tastes from your intro, but I'll take your word for it that you have a pretty wide range of tastes - if you've an open mind for more music, you'll really like this place.

Let me put it this way, I am a huge Alice Cooper fan, I love to listen to AC/DC, Metallica, Disturbed (on occasions). But you'll just as easilly find me listening to softer stuff such as John Barrowman, Ronan Keeting. Even some out there stuff like Nightwish, Within Temptation. I listen to Christian music and death metal.

I have my favourites but my tastes are varied

I find I go through phases, I just went through a Rap phase where I was listening to Tupac, Xzibit, Eminem etc and now find myself moving back to balads & Rock

Within Temptation went all the way to Australia?
My goodness. Remember seeing them live when no one heard about them.
Didn't like it much though, sorry.

Probably not big in Australia I discovered them by accident on youtube, I tend to think of it more as background music but it works for me

Abba is prounced the same as "Ah, bah", here.
Which means something like "oh yuck".

"Ik heb net in de stront gestaan"
"Ah, bah!".

"I just stepped in some poo"
"Oh, yuck!"

Yah. We say Abba all the time in a rather strange context.
