Default Hey there, cool people!

If large posts aren't your thing, I made a neat little TL;DR intro, which you can find at the bottom of this post.

I might just start off by saying what a wonderful message board you have set up here. Never before have I seen mouse-over previews of threads on their titles, and I am quite impressed at the size of the board as well. In the past I have set up message boards just for fun with some friends or to promote creativity, but they keep dying off :/ Also, just after reading all of the guidelines and some random topics that caught my eye, I've come to the conclusion that there are some very awesome people here. But of course, I digress.

I don't normally give out my personal information, so no name/location/picture etc., however I'm a 17yo guy. My avatar is taken from an album by one of my favourite electronic artists and my greatest inspiration in making electronic music - Binärpilot. I mostly listen to electronic music, however I do enjoy 'Rock' bands such as Wolfmother, Bloc Party, Muse, Pink Floyd, etc. I'm quite uneducated in the various 'Rock' genres (and even some electronic genres). I also listen to Orchestral music and a bit of Jazz. My other favourite artists/groups include MGMT, hunz, deadmau5, RAC, Röyksopp, Daft Punk, Phillip Glass and Passion Pit.

I can play all of the following instruments (and sing); Ukulele, French Horn, Trumpet, Keyboard/Piano/Organ, Bass Guitar, and Drums. I am involved in my School's Orchestra playing Horn, and I used to play Trumpet in the Stage Band until I got braces. I play my Ukulele as I walk around school and entertain my friends and classmates. I make electronic music using the Renoise 2.7.2 Demo, an advanced tracker-style DAW. I draw my inspiration heavily from chiptunes, glitch/trip-hop, and electro/dubstep.

I have a strong dislike for 'mainstream' music. There are a few exceptions to this (single songs only), but basically anything being mashed through every media outlet in an attempt to solely make money is not cool, especially when the overused themes of sex, drugs and (less commonly) violence are involved. Artists I'm definitely not fond of include: Pitbull, Rhianna, Chris Brown, Flo Rida, and worst of all Nick Minaj.

TL;DR: Your board is awesome. I love Binärpilot and try to make electronic music like him. I also like deadmau5 and Röyksopp. I play Ukulele a lot. I hate Nicki Minaj.

And it's pronounced "Scorpio."

Well, I say I like Jazz (and I do) but I really don't have much apart from Phillip Glass. Other bands in my Jazz folder include The Cat Empire and Dr. Octopus (who sound a bit like No Doubt). I need to find more Jazz music to listen to; I've heard that Miles Davis is suitably awesome, but I haven't had the opportunity to actually listen to some of his songs.

Actually, there is something else I should really explain, perhaps in my signature. I'll just change it now...

Wait, so you don't already have an eccentric ukulele player here? Or is there a cult of eccentric ukulele players here?
