Welcome to Music Banter. I love older music, but new music ain't so shabby, despite what you may have heard on the radio. Keep an open mind, you might come upon something you enjoy.

Yeah, to add to what Blaro says, not all modern music is terrible. You're probably going by the charts or radio play, but there are some fantastic artistes out there, and some amazing albums being released even this year. I think it's a mistake to so restrict yourself, but hey, if that's your bag. You will though, in all likelihood, be missing out on some great music...
Oh yeah, and welcome. Ya gotta have friends, can't exist in a vacuum (you DO realise you're going to be bombarded with vacuum cleaner jokes and references for a while, don't you?)

The portable record player looks appealing, but in reality it would be an absolute bitch to carry around a stack of records to listen to. Even if they're just 45's! They get so damn heavy

Oh I don't want it for the portability. I just WANT it! For the croc!

Ha ha, what a laugh, I think I'll enjoy being here - you guys certainly have a wetter humour than I.

On the music subject I just picked up some free cassettes today which consist of some classical, a 60s music cassette, set of three Roy Orbison "His Greatest Hits" from Readers Digest and Elvis Presley "The All-Time Greatest Hits".

All the jewel cases are in the dishwasher just now on a delicate wash to get the dirt off and where applicable the old stuck on price stickers.

As for cassettes being stereotypically "wonky", well, I'm on the first Elvis cassette and have already listened to all three Big O cassettes without a single flaw. I am not exaggerating.

Just the style of it, for example, I'm listening to Elvis' "If I Can Dream" on the aforementioned cassette and it is pure delight to hear.

Modern music just irritates me and doesn't have the talent that I love so much from the oldies.

Why does modern music irritate you?
