Second piece of advice... Be nice to the youngins, they run the place. Be good to them and they will gather you followers.

Who exactly are the mods/owners here?

Mods' screen names are blue, owners are a point of great contention and conspiracy.

Main advice I'd offer is that there's actually not a big tight knit group here, there's a very small one, and the rest of us regulars are just posting random **** that sometimes they get and sometimes they don't. Basically, don't be concerned if some people like you and others do not, because there's plenty of varied personality to go around.

I, for one, find myself most enjoying people who keep it light hearted and hardly ever exhibit emotions. Also music banter.

I suppose you come and go to an extent, but when you're here you're definitely not on the outside looking in. A lot of people seem to feel there's an in crowd around here, and really I think it's just a group of people who post more regularly than others. There are plenty of others who aren't here as much, but when they do drop in, they generally flow right into the fabric of the site. It's only really in the first few weeks that a newb is going to feel out of place, but after that I think a forum is like riding a bike. Even if some of the newer in-jokes go over your head, the basic vibe is still going to be instinctual.

Yes, GB got it for me. TY. Highly disappointed in the sh*tty counter-arguments. I stand by my edit.

It's been a couple years I guess since I checked that thread out, so I don't remember, but did he define "sport" in such a way that would exclude beer pong?

Agreed. Once you get to know everyone's personalty it's pretty much the same. I'm not particularly friendly with/close with anyone either but I've never felt like an outcast, and if some people have something to say about me I don't give a sh*t. Can't please everyone, enjoy the people you get along with. People naturally form cliques but I wouldn't say the cliques on here create forum outcasts.

I should restate that to say... There's a small close knit group of regulars who are Facebook friends and have each other's numbers and have hung out and stuff, whereas most forum friends don't get that far. Don't feel pressured or intimidated by their friendship.
