Default Greetings from South Central Nebraska

Hello all,
I'm a 55 year old guitar newbie. I've got a Seagull 20th Anniversary acoustic (Spruce and Maple) that can be seen on Flickr (username pixelsmithy). Can't post URLs yet.

I recently got a used Epiphone Les Paul Standard Plus (Wine) that is going to be my electric. I have two other electrics that I'm selling to help pay for the Epiphone purchase. A white Ibanez Art 100 and a Squier "Hello Kitty" Pink strat. My only amp is a Vox headphone amp AC30 G2.

My other interests are photography (digital and film), darkroom, astronomy, storm chasing/weather and cooking/baking. I'm also working on putting together a decent vintage stereo system to play some vinyl on.

Looking forward to learning from you all!

Seagull guitars are very nice. I don't have one but the ones I played in guitar shops all play well. I really never seen anyone complain about them. That guitar on flickr has a nice figured maple back and sides.

It's weird. This forum seems to go through unintentional cycles. For most of the time I've been here, twenty-somethings have been the dominant age group, and yet the last year or couple years have seen an abnormal number of younger teens becoming regular members. And now Chula (another dude in his fifties) shows up, and I could swear there have been a few more oldsters who may or may not have stuck around. It may be my imagination, but we seem to be getting an influx of Baby Boomers for whatever reason.

Metal jackets are great heat conductors.

What are some of your favourite artists, cheekygeek?
