Eh, matter of opinion really.

Stop that, stop that right now.

Forreal

People who say **** like that always judge contemporary music as like.. Linkin Park, Nickelback, Katy Perry, Iggy Azealia, etc.

I'd bet money that OP listens to the radio and that's his perception of modern music.

I do not listen to the radio but you could be right. I have not heard enough newer music to be a fan. I will say I do like some newer songs by various bands - groups. It's just rare I ever hear anything new worth adding to my list of most listened songs.

That's probably because

A) you probably haven't delved into modern music
B) you are have a specific set of vintage sounds that you are looking for, and any new innovations are crap to you.

I don't exactly disagree with this, but I do think its an oversimplification.

I can somewhat relate because before I got married I had my core "sounds" that I connected with, while keeping an open mind and exploring new ones. Music lovers tend to grow in their music, developing their musical pallet just like a foodie develops their culinary pallet...

However, sometimes life just gets in the way (I.e: a spouse that doesn't like loud music, a job that doesn't allow music or only plays the Gaga stations, living with individuals who have very different sensory processing needs, etc), and sometimes that musical exploration and refinement process either plateaus or halts altogether. After all, if music is no longer a big part of someone's life, filtering through all the crap songs to get to the good ones can seem a daunting chore.. sometimes its just easier to pop in some nostalgic "comfort songs." It doesn't mean the person is close-minded or incapable of appreciating newer sounds, it just means that they need to be willing to break their musical routine and ask for recommendations from others with similar musical taste but a more developed pallet.

good ideas, good innovations and very well spoken. Whenever I hear something I like, it's like discovering gold. I am very open minded but short on patience. It's kind of like whether I'm attracted to it or not. If there is some attraction I will give it a chance and see if there's more. If it hurts my ears from the beginning then I get turned off easily to never return. I think you really understand me
