the age of consent is related to where she is not where you live. She is a resident of our country so our restrictions apply even if you two get down in England.

You sure about that?

"Increasingly the age of consent laws of a state are applied not only to acts committed on its own territory, but also acts committed by its nationals or inhabitants on foreign territory.[1] Such provisions have been frequently adopted to help reduce the incidence of child sex tourism."

-that's what wikipedia has to say about it, but under UK law, if they have the same laws, a UK citizen would not be breaking any laws in having sex with a US 16yo, but the US 16yo would be.

I can't seem to find it right now but I remember reading it in a wiki article that it falls back to the resident of the state's law not where the act is committed.
