You do realize real people are reading what you write? If you think something is wrong IRL why would you do it on the internet? I don't change who I am when I sit behind a desk.

and similarly to Batlord's point, the company I'm with does not dictate my morality. There are some people I may joke more with and what not, but the context of my jokes isn't going to suddenly become racist/sexist I'm in the company of people who aren't offended by that kind of thing.

You just answered your own question. I don't have to worry about something going wrong because if people find it funny, it's mutually accepted.

And I know about it? I stop. I'm not that much of an *******. But as far as I can tell, nobody here has been openly offended by the use of the word ***got until today.

It's not just about the people who might get offended, it's about the people who might find the joke funny. I wouldn't tell racist or homophobic jokes at Stormfront because the reason they would laugh would piss me off. The reason the people here make and laugh at jokes like that is far different though.
