1. Our dogs are extremely well trained. They don't run off. They don't run ahead of us. They don't just randomly run after other dogs. One stern "LEAVE IT" from me or Lin and they stop dead in their tracks.

2. We will ask, "is your dog friendly?" If the answer is yes, then it's play time. Our dogs have frequented communal dog parks since they were pups, so other dogs are no big deal for them. If the answer is no, we steer clear out of respect.

3. Mojo and Cali met all of my neighbors yesterday, all of their dogs, the RV park manager, and the dude who built my stairs. They were teddy bears with everyone. And everyone just sucked up the doggie love.

4. You'd have to see my area to understand why we let them off-leash. It's a unique, very secluded place. Linda is 10X more safety conscience with the dogs than me. Her agreeing to let them off-leash speaks volumes.

5. Put your guns away brothers and sisters.

My dad has it. When my dog was a puppy we took her off leash to run around a bit in a clearing about 30 minutes in the woods. Long story short, she played keep away for hours until we had to basically walk out of the woods or spend the night. It was October. She followed to the edge of the woods near my car thankfully but would not go near me or my car. My dad showed up and one thunderous "LAY DOWN! STAY!" and she listened and we went home.

F*ck, when I was a kid I used to hear my dads whistle from like ten blocks away and would come home for dinner. He's one of those guys that can whistle like a f*cking hawk without the use of fingers.

Dude knows how to beckon.

I've been attacked by unruly dogs. Never had a problem with dogs hiking because unleashed dogs people hike with are usually very well behaved. My problem is people leaving big vicious dogs in the yard with out watching them. They're dicks. And my friend's pit does not like me. Like, he used to be a chill dog but recently he's become vicious and mean mugs specific people. When ever I'm around he just sits there and stares me down. I've also seen the owner slap the **** out of him (not too hard, but still) because he wouldn't leave me alone. Makes me uncomfortable having to watch that even though I know the dog wants to kill me.
