100% agree. It's obvious in how a lot of traditional American folk sounds almost entirely like country, basically. A lot of the same types of progressions and such. Country is just a very popular sub category of folk.

The best compromise you’ll get from me is I’ll admit I overemphasize TVZ’s fan base when defining his music but otoh you undersell his differences from more mainstream country artists from that era.
