Default Hi my name is James

Hey everyone!

I just joined up here and saw that this is one of the recommended first steps to being a part of this community. I'm down with that.

A little of my background
I was much bigger into music in general when I was younger. These days I've kind of lost touch with whats what. In my younger years the following were pretty much all of the albums I ever bought.

Random Likes
No Doubt - Rock Steady
Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory
Jay-Z - The Blueprint
P.O.D. - Satellite
The Offspring - Conspiracy of One
Sum41 - All Killer No Filler

Emo high school period
Panic! At The Disco - A Fever You Can't Sweat Out
Fall Out Boy - Take This To Your Grave, From Under The Cork Tree
The Academy Is... - Almost Here
Paramore - Riot
Yellowcard - Ocean Avenue, Lights and Sounds, Paper Walls
Blink-182 - Enema Of The State, Take Off Your Pants And Jacket, Blink-182
Angels & Airwaves - We Don't Need To Whisper
Matchbook Romance - Stories and Alibis
My Chemical Romance - Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge
The Used - In Love and Death
Say Anything... - In Defense of the Genre
Acceptance - Phantoms
Relient K - Mmhmm
Mayday Parade - A Lesson In Romantics, Anywhere But Here

Harder stuff post high school
Atreyu - Lead Sails Paper Anchor
Escape The Fate - This War Is Ours, Escape The Fate
Three Days Grace - Three Days Grace, One-X
Five Finger Death Punch - The Way of the Fist, War is the Answer, The Wrong Side of Heaven and the Righteous Side of Hell
Saosin - Saosin, In Search of Solid Ground
A Day To Remember - Homesick, What Separates Me From You
Hawk Nelson - Smile, It's the End of the World
Anberlin - Blueprints for the Black Market, Never Take Friendship Personal, Cities

A lot of the bands I liked are disbanded or have shifted their sound so much I don't care for it anymore. I sometimes feel like I would be better off stuck in an alternative universe where pop-punk and A Day to Remember still played on the radio. Hopefully I can expand my horizons and find some newer stuff to follow after getting involved here.

Looking forward to getting to know you guys/gals!

I can definitely agree that lead sails paper anchor was a monster from start to finish. I'm not even all that crazy about a majority of this list anymore. I might wax nostalgic about them but you likely won't find me listening to any of them very often. Case and point: my most listened to tracks on Google play music lately are 4 bands I didn't list here. Crazy how my tastes have evolved.

Welcome to MB, Poppapunk

One of us is certainly in an alternative universe: I haven't heard of - let alone heard - any of those albums you listed

Like one of the ultimate pop metal songs ever made.
