indeed, it seems that now there are more musicians than listeners =)
everyone has a mic, laptop, and youtube but there is no necessary knowledge and desire to get them.
this is definitely a minus since we have tons of **** that are not filtered by anyone.
on the other hand, real talent is easy to enter the scene without going through show business difficulties of the last century.
now everyone should engage in self-promotion—it is sad but manuals and textbooks write about it.
i know a lot about it since i own recording studio.
i believe that such "composer" sections on forums are good because here guys are engaged in self-analysis and improving their skills. they are not too concerned about the other forum sections while other members rarely look into "music of our members".
i do not climb into your policy, it just seems to me that this approach is progressive.

in my youth, we were part of the USSR where Western pop culture was banned. i loved everything i heard on vinyl that once a week we exchanged with each other on an underground meeting once a week.
now i love classical music, especially the baroque period. pop music is too primitive though done correctly. prog rock is the only thing that left to me from those times. i have a music blog where i publish what i dug in these five centuries. it's hard to pick a few names.

Welcome to MB.
What kind of prog are you into? Do you dig AvantProg?
Which city are you from? I was born in Odessa, although I left the country when I was four.

I thought recently about Gershwin. would we have Summertime if his parents had not left Odessa? =)

born in Donetsk, but mysteriously moved to a neighboring region just a few years before this war.

not very deep in prog
ELP makes me completely fun
Fripp is also great for me in many of his projects.
