Reconnecting with the 60s
 

Hi Group,

Just joined. I grew up in the late 60's early 70's and I'm trying to reconnect with the wonderful music of that time and the fascinating back stories of those great albums and artists.

It was a Great Era of Music! I remember rushing home before 8.00 pm so I can turn on Radio Luxembourg in Europe! Had to be home a few minutes before 8.00 so I can here: This is Radio Luxembourg - Your Station of the Stars! (1961). Then the best theme song on earth started to Play! ..and took me few years to get the whole tune on record! Now you can load it anywhere, but not too many people remember it.. The tune is: Teen Scene by The Hunters! - give it a try.. MrGrey.

The 60s. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.

The first time Rod Stewart was in a record studio, he was chased out of recording booth as soon as he started singing by Joe Meek. Joe Meek was a produce who worked independently from the corporate studios. He produced the song Tribute to Buddy Holly which was a hit in the UK for Mike Berry. Mike Berry went on to play Mr. Spooner in "Are You Being Served?"

Before Victor Garber played Admiral Halsey on The Orville he sang a Sunshine band called The Sugar Shoppe back in the 60s. They were like a Canadian version of The Mamas and the Papas. He has pretty active acting career, he also played Dr. Martin Stein in (the TV series) The Flash.

The Prisoner theme song imo is "the best theme song on Earth." The best coversong of a theme song goes to Duane Eddy for his version of The Ballad Of Paladin. The Shad's Thunderbirds are Go and The Ventures Hawaii 5-O rank pretty high too.
