Also a band from the uk called 'Mother Earth' but I can't find them online. Run a search for the albums 'mr freedom' and 'grow your own EP'.
Well worth it.

Corduroy is one of the best groups in human history.

I just bought The New You CD, and I play it to death.

Clik was HORRIBLE, though.

High Havoc was a very clever concept album.

have you heard the heavy rhyme experience?

That was the first time I had ever heard The Pharcyde. That is my favorite rap group to date.

Favorite Acid Jazz Band = Medeski, Martin & Wood

I've heard that they are but I'm always unsure about genres since they always seem to depend on the person.

interesting bit about wes montgomery.. ive never heard of acid jazz in those terms.
i would say that the furthest i have delved into acid jazz is thievery corporation, although i feel as though they fall under several categories. i'd love to hear of anyone's favorites, though.

There are actually two distinctly different genres of music called "acid jazz". The original was a style of "west coast" jazz from the late 60's/early seventies jazz that's very mellow with a lot of bright yet laid-back melodies and intermittent horn arrangements. The legendary jazz guitarists Wes Montgomery is almost always associated with this style of music as he undoubtedly pioneered the genre. The second genre is, of course, electronica; and while I could probaly just pop onto wiki and make myself look a lot smarter than I actually am, I will instead confess that I know nothing else about it.

Elements on the first album but I would hardly call 'Mezzanine' an Acid Jazz album, or anything else they have released TBH.

when did trip hop get renamed to acid jazz?

if you're going to stick with the electronic side of things at least stick with bands that have some basis in actual jazz. like maybe - jaga jazzist / koop / the cinematic orchestra / xploding plastix / squarepusher / amon tobin.

zero 7 is awesome and all but they've got about as much to do with jazz as black sabbath.

Thanks for the hot tip on Squarepusher Dave... Been looking for something similar to Tobin for a while, and love what i have heard so far... Any other suggestions would be wonderful :p (As well as any Squarepusher albums you may happen to have :p:)
