Do you still remember Kenny G?
I do! I actually played his CD once in a while.. I wonder where is he now:band:

I guess he is getting old like all off us. |

He's not a bad (as in awful) artist! Although, everyone made fun of his music at the music school I attended.
I think he still holds the record for playing the longest amount of time in one single breathe. |
He is still a pool of stagnant water in the ever flowing river of life. Wow what an analogy!
I think I have been a little sick.
I'm just going to go out and say it, because I know we're all thinking it.
What a hottie. |
Kenny G
Candy Dulfer You decide! |
may he burn forever with his "rotational breathing" or whatever its called...
he reminds me of getting fillings at the dentist
spawns sadness, a never ending sadness, like the hour long notes he holds.
Terrible improv, most of his (or other people's) songs don't swing, and there is barely any association with the jazz tradition. All clues that lead to the placement of an artist into the jazz category. he doesn't belong in the jazz category :soapbox: |
Where is he today
It's funny how young people today call the old artist of yesteryear awefull. It doesn't make anyone believe it any more though |

Sadly, yes, I do.

Good stuff. Kenny G old...never!!!

I just saw him in an episode of Dirty Sexy Money. So he's still alive (if you can call that living).

Look what happens when white people take over rock and roll...you eventually get Nickelback. We take rap, you get eminem. So what do we do? We try and invade jazz next and we give the world Kenny G! I propose we enslave ourselves or at least don't let us near anymore genres.
If I ever meet Kenny G I swear I'm gonna drop kick him.

Learn rock history then get back to me before you say something stupid again.

Ok, there was plenty of black people involved in the development of rock and roll, and they were good. But what you're getting at is that only white people make bad music. There's plenty of bad music by black, Hispanic, and Asian people, just as there's plenty of examples of good rock bands that *GASP* have all white members! If you're not implying that, then please, clarify for me.
I know this is old.

And you're just straight up wrong. To even suggest that invalidates everything that those musicians stood for, black and white. Some of the greatest jazz musicians have been white, among them: Bill Evans Django Reinhardt Chet Baker Dave Brubeck Gil Evans Stan Getz I don't want to even get started on hip-hop and rock, because it's obvious you're not going to respond. But a message to everyone else: the color of your skin is NOT an index of your musical abilities (good or bad). Bearing that in mind, Kenny G still sucks. Just not because he's white. |
I love Kenny G but I can only take so much. Love listening to him at Christmas time. he has two great albums.
My parents listen to his Christmas albums. Their decent background music.
Kenny G is a sad excuse for a Jazz musician.
He's the worst thing that ever happened to the Jazz genre.
I'm trying SO HARD TO FORGET!!!

Music for supermarkets. That's not neccesarily a bad thing, it just means I would never go out of my way to listen to him.
