Essential Blues Albums?

Two that haven't been mentioned yet are Harlem Street Singer by Rev. Gary Davis and Texas Sharecropper & Songster by Mance Liscomb. Perhaps not brushed with the renown of a Robert Johnson or B.B. King but just as riveting in my opinion.

For blues guitarists: any live recording by BB King from the 60's-70's. Same goes for Albert Collins and Albert King.

I concentrated more on electric artists; if I made a list of country blues/acoustic folk blues, it would have the usual suspects (Skip James, Robert Johnson, Big Bill Broonzy, Sonny Boy Williamson, et.al.)

I just wanted to second the people who suggested both Robert Johnson's and Blind Willie Johnson's Complete Recordings. They are essential when getting into Blues. My pick for best electric blues album was also already mentioned - Albert King's Born Under A Bad Sign. Friggin' amazing.

So this is the only song I can find off of Happy to Be Just Like I Am on youtube. I can't find it uploaded anywhere either, but I kind of like that I gotta pop the record in to hear it.

I bought this album on a whim, but it turned into an album that I can't live without. I don't think I would be where I am now without it. It was just so fitting for that period in my life.
