Default Howard Riley

British pianist Howard Riley released a great album of solo piano this year.

Stillness by Patrick Booth

Smooth jazz by some guy who wants the world to know ďThe Upper Peninsula of MichiganĒ is special. This is the last year Iím going to tolerate meaning being assigned to instrumental music.

making bones by Josh Sinton's Predicate Trio

https://ilusorecords.bandcamp.com/album/making-bones

Quote:
Josh Sinton - baritone saxophone and bass clarinet
Christopher Hoffman - cello
Tom Rainey - drums
It seems like I might have reviewed this before but Iím not getting a search hit. Iím going to say even though thereís no pianist on this record that itís most closely rooted in the Cecil tradition. All three musicians are top shelf. This is a great record.
