Do people actually say it at anyone's school? I just stand up for the sake of not being yelled at. I don't think I've said it in like 5 or so years.

This pledge thing...are they expecting a revolution if you don't?

From what I understand my school didn't actually start saying the pledge until after 9/11 happened, because at that point everyone felt the compulsion to prove their patriotism. If I had known about 9/11 in advance I would have invested all my money into some flag-making company because right after that happened every single ****ing house had a flag on the porch and ever car had thirteen american flag stickers. So yeah, it's not even genuine displays of patriotism, its compulsory nationalism.

And yeah, I don't actually say it but that doesn't mean I can't bitch about it. Sometimes I don't stand but I've gotten bitched at for doing that so generally I stand.

It's sort of funny after a while people forget there own national anthem. But yeah i'm forced to in school.

I don't know the american national anthem but I know the canadian one.

I can play the British national hymn. It's in the latter part of Jupiter by Gustav Holst.

@ ethan, Liberia was a country designed for black people to go to, to be free from racial injustices, though they faced hard tiems there as well, and it was more like a get balck people out of the u.s program. Monrovia was its capitol, named after The president Monroe.

I never want to forget. And then I realized... like I was shot... like I was shot with a diamond... a diamond bullet right through my forehead. And I thought: My God... the genius of that.
