I thought the whole of NZ was absolutely well-organised!

On the whole it is. The only thing screwing it up are the people in charge of running it

More New Year resolutions: I'll wolf down copious amounts of cold cuts for starters, then some scrumptious bbq (which I myself will cook), and delectable ice cream to get through a sweltering night. I'll guzzle something more than a standard measure of beer, for water will fix it all later. Oh, I'll be having some training tomorrow

I'll promise to be a less offensive against other people.

I promise I'm gonna try to develop my English and Swedish cos right now I'm not very good at foreign languages.
Then I promise that I'm gonna find other people to play with. Sadly it is hard to find other people with the same music taste. I would not bother were it a little different but nobody seems to be interested in music at all. Also there are tens of guitarist out there but nobody plays bass so I have been seriously thinking about bying a bass guitar, but I have none of money.

Seems good to me mate, you write more fluently than some English people lol.

Yep, but my accent is not that good, though maybe I'm just just thinking about it too much... But you can never please a perfectionist.
And well, I'm trying to balance my shortcomings of vocabulary with good grammar, though I'm not sure if it is successful or not. The biggest hope I have is that my writings are understandable, nothing else matters that much. You know, that is what languages are for.

Taxman, your English is great! I'd love to pick up -or at least to hear- some Finnish! That must be an impossible language to learn! How was your Christmas night there in Finland? What kind of grub did you have? How was the weather? It's well-known that Finland is a place of some ravishing beauty. I hope I'll achieve my goal of visiting your country before passing away! Cheers!

My resolution:

Stop drinking during weekdays.

Simple enough, eh?

Well, as far as I know, the reason why Finnish is often considered as an imbossible language to learn is because it is different. I mean, Finnish ain't related to indo-European languages, so it may seem hard. The biggest problem for a learners anyway probably our grammar which is, I must say, way too complicated. But it ain't that hard if you come from Hungary or somewhere else where their language is closer to ours.

And what about our Christmas? I dunno is it because the green house effect or not, but we have no snow. Last winter was pretty cold, though, so that may explain it. Also if you go to northern Finland you'll find so much snow that you'll be satisfied.
Personally, I do not like if it is cold, something like -25 C or so, but something like -10 and snow would make me pretty happy.
But that luckily did not affect our Christmas celebration. We just eat a lot and were in sauna two and half hours. Now it may sound crazy but personally I just love saunas. If you go to Finland, you should definitely give them a change. Though I don't know how popular sauna is internationally.

Well, when it comes to Finnish nature and the beauty in t can offer, there are many kinds of it. It depends what you want, but Lapland is a must to check out. Also aurora borealis. Just stay away from those tourist places. The real beauty is somewhere else.
There are many national parks if that's what you're looking for.

Then, when it comes to cities and stuff like that, I guess we have not that much to offer. The biggest city is Helsinki, with 500 000 dwellers, or so.
But anyway, if you wanna see the best Finland has to offer, go to Lapland, summertime, I would recommend, because the sun stays up trough the night and I have find it to be pretty beautiful. In the wintertime,on the other hand, it feels like the sun never shines, but you can't get everything.
