Had a dream last night that my GF had stage 3 cancer. Ugh. She's finally getting her "port" out next week, so this crap still lingers on over a year after she was diagnosed with colon cancer, treated and done with it.

2 Weird dreams....

They're both in the first person - ie I'm seeing through my eyes.

So in my first one I'm walking towards my bus stop that I get on every day for work and there's two people sat on the seats - I can't see exactly who they are, but one of them is an elderly Asian woman - Yoko? I walk further and see the other person, a man, is spinning a sickle sort of tool in his hands. He turns out to be Eric Clapton and looks like he did beck in the sixties.
It kinda switches to another scene where I'm standing at the bus stop with my best friend and we watch the buses go by, only to realize it's A and N - two people who date at where we work. We see them arguing then we erupt in laughter.
It changes back to Clapton. The bus has arrived for them and as Clapton's about to board I tap him, and I'm about to ask to have an autograph, but he seems to know that so he draws out a roll of paper that has loads of signatures on it, a bit like a tour date sheet. I put it in my inside pocket and walk over the hill (that's where the bus stop is) and back to my house. I dig inside, but find nothing there. Damn, I say to myself, realizing I didn't pick it up.
I then wake up from my dream.

The second one is much more vague. I'm in a big brown coat and I go to a place (I don't actually know what, it's kinda busy and full of smokers) and take out a cigarillo (a small cigar) and start smoking. I've never smoked before, and I suddenly hear my dad's voice behind me. I turn round and try to hide my cigarillo because I know he will go ballistic but he doesn't seem to notice. I then wake up.

So....is there any explanation?

I think I saw a premonition last night. I don't trust to any kind of magic, but it's a funny coincidence.

I've met one guy for a couple of times. First time I met him in library, he smiled to me and asked if I had time to go to coffee. I was busy and I have a boyfriend so I said no. Next time I saw him in a bar, he came to talk to me and we were talking a bit before I went back to where my friends were.

Yesterday I saw a dream. I was in the library and saw him here. Today I went to the library and guess who there was! He smiled to me and I smiled him back, but I got shy and hided myself to between bookcases. It was so strange I almost went to talk to him like HEY BABE IT'S A DESTINY!!!! (:D) but when I came back to where he was, he was disappeared. Now I'm wondering if I'm going crazy and he was really just a hallucination, the situation was so so weird. :D Well okay, maybe it was just a strange coincidence.

scleaves 04-25-2013 02:20 PM

I had one recently where I was going to meet some scientists to see some prehistoric horse flies and the horse flies escaped and bit the scientists and they all died from it before we got there.

In your opinion, what is the best dream that you've ever had, or ever could have?

Sex?
Flying?

This is going to sound odd but my favourite is dreaming I'm cuddling a kitty. I'm a little too obsessed with them.

I have recurring dreams loads, they're always based around past events, phases or moments in my life too. I had the flying one when I was a child all the time. Doesn't happen now.

These days the best dreams I have are always ones where I'm being chased. Sometimes it's by gangs of people I used to hang around with when I was younger trying to kick my head in on the streets. Other times it's the police trying to arrest me. I've had criminals with guns chase me before too trying to kill me, sometimes I'm being chased through buildings too. They should be nightmares really but I love those dreams, I wake up with a proper adrenaline rush, it's ace

I do the cat thing too but only when I'm trying to go to sleep. I imagine I have a pet cat that is purring and cuddling me. It's very tranquil.

I often have recurring sex dreams and recurring dreams about my future. It's just strange... Sex dreams are hit and miss - sometimes they are hot and passionate (like the stereotypical ones) and sometimes they involve cheating, rejection, dissatisfaction... I always wonder what they mean. I wouldn't say they are necessarily the best dreams to have.

The following is a usual dream:

I was in the ballroom, abroad Titanic, underwater in the current wreckage. The dead started talking to me, giving me information as if they were reading my mind and I didn't even have to ask. They said, "130 cats lost their families."

A woman's bf beat her up and killed her. He buried her body in the yard. A dog dug up her foot and played w it.
I could do a composite sketch of her while the nightmare is still clear

ThePhanastasio 06-30-2013 11:12 PM

I'm in a church.

I've not been to church since high school, and I'm 25 now, so this was immediately alarming. I looked around at the congregation, and I recognized a few faces, but most were unfamiliar. I immediately sensed something was off.

In lieu of taking my place in the pews, I made my way to the front of the church. This church was bizarre; instead of the congregation being able to view the sermon, there was an ornate wooden door at the front. I watched as several people tried (and failed) to open it, making their way back to the pews without so much as a bemused expression. They were stoic as all get-out.

I get to the door, expecting the same, but before I could even touch the door, it opened for me. I looked around, bewildered, but no one seemed to notice, and I made my way through.

This room was dark and filled me with immense dread. I saw figures, and as I tried to process what they were, I heard the door open behind me and spun around.

There was a man I'd never seen, eyes wild, looking as though he was fighting with all the force in his body not to be in this room, but his legs kept propelling him forward. He let forth a series of grunts, his head jerking this way and that, and pled with something or someone to spare him.

I was horrified, and moved to the side to let him pass, but he tried to reach for me, although he was unable to stop moving forward. He made his way to an altar, and I saw the figures more clearly.

There were 13 of them, nun-like, but clad in white robes. Their faces were shadows which twisted and distorted, making dozens of almost faces at every second. I was frozen. They were making bizarre twittering noises that brought pigeons to mind, but they were more high-pitched and seemed to be excited.

The man said, "I can't be sacrificed to the 13 virgins; I have a family! I have a life!"

But he kept moving to the altar. Once he was at the front of the room, he stood there, weeping, and I made a move to go to him. Suddenly, there was a dark shadow, and he exploded (for want of a better term) splattering the 13 virgins and me in his blood.

The virgins began making horrible, horrible sounds of excitement, still pigeon-like, but terrifying. I fled from the room.

At this point I had a "flashback" and knew I was the preacher and this was my congregation. I had to smear them with blood to spare them, but I didn't have much time.

I sprinted around the church, trying to smear blood on every forehead I saw, but there was a countdown clock which gave me only 60 seconds.

As I smeared the blood, a girl on my team at work entered my field of vision, and she was at the back of the church. I sprinted to her, and smeared the blood on her forehead right as time ran out. Right as I was walking away, I heard her say, "I'm not a LESBIAN. I have a ****ing BOYFRIEND and this is ridiculous."

I was wounded, because I knew I'd just saved her life, and I felt that her statement was a deliberate attempt to hurt me. I knew that I'd save her every single time, but I could never tell her this, and never would.

The next person came up for sacrifice, and I smeared the girl I worked with first, and she rolled her eyes.

I kept going.

Eventually, I wanted to become one of the thirteen virgins, because I didn't like having to be the one who decided who lived and who died.

I spoke with God directly, and he made it seem like I was important and the rest of the congregation was inconsequential. I proceeded to dodge out of the way during the next sacrifice so that no blood touched me.

The next victim came through the doors, but I pushed him to the ground and took my place at the altar. There were unimaginably bright lights, then I woke up.

I want to just have normal dreams so I can sleep normally, and not thrash around, waking myself up at 3 in the morning. Then having terrifying additional dreams which cause me to be distracted at work, trying to process them.

How does one go about ridding herself of nightmares each day? Because my days off, I usually try to sleep it off. When I have to work, I am zombified, and my coach hates me.

CrazyVegn 07-03-2013 01:24 AM

My dreams "trump" everyone's here bc my meds, high IQ, artist syndrome (my own diagnosis), and maybe boredom / lack of RL adventure.

My mother always told me not to cheese before I went to bed.

I always suspected she was a ****ing liar and just really likes cheese.

Ha, my mom always said the same thing about not eating sugar before bed. Now she's a diabetic. Coincidence...I think not.

djchameleon 07-03-2013 05:35 AM

The only thing that gives me nightmares if I eat it before bed is spicy food and/or mexican food.

Everything else is fair game but yeah that is a tough one ThePhanastasio. I'm not sure how you would get over that.

A very long shot would be to try hypnosis but I don't know how open minded you are to it.

CrazyVegn 07-07-2013 09:48 AM

My nightmares about Titanic are repetative, scary, and unsettling. Again, I was in the middle of the wreckage underwater, and w stories above me. I am surrounded by the dead and they are walking, searching the ship for their belongings. A large woman dressed in a black gown approached me in a whining tone asking me to help her find her wedding band. So we looked endlessly and there was so much jewelry on each floor but we couldnt find it.

Sansa Stark 07-08-2013 11:03 AM

I keep having weird nightmares...

I had one last night about being trapped in some university with my class being the only survivors and we were being chased by these zombie like creatures??? they had glowing purple eyes. One of my exes was there and I tried to save him from being infected but it didn't work and I couldn't save him which made me wake up really sad

CrazyVegn 07-08-2013 12:49 PM

^ And the waking up sad stays w you for the rest of the day, I know how you feel...
It is the heat I think...
So in my last one ( I have nightmares every night ) it was the 1970s and everyone had on polyesters and bell bottoms. I was an artist like now except my studio had all glass walls and it was HUGE and with winding staircases. I had books, paper ornaments, and newspaper stacked high all around in a maze like disarray. I had a stalker who was a 7' tall man w black hair and he broke into the studio. For what seemed like forever I distracted him w confetti and crepe paper, managing to keep him away. The yrs went by and he got shorter, older, and less scary but I had PTSD really bad and thought I saw him outside so I organized the stacks of paper to cover up the glass walls and never ever went outside. The doorbell rang and I was so relieved it was my girlfriend coming over for tea. That was around the time I noticed we were all very tall which is strange but symbolically I think it means shedding fear and growing confidence. Anyway she coaxed me outside and we all went for a walk in the Fall air. For the first time in years, and at the end of our walk, I threw my head back and smiled and I left that life and watched me smile outside myself as I flew away into the night sky.
In the next life/scene it was the late 1980s and think I mightve been the same woman but I was dressed in typical attire w the fuschias, black velvets, red, gold and I had an art show.
Things got kinda stupid tho when my studio was filled w John Candy movies on VHS and I had to swim through them to get by. Then I saw the man himself was signing them as he stacked them. It was getting to be dawn, they were in jean jackets, and that was the end.

it was pretty crazy, yours are a lot more detailed than mine

I keep having snatches of lucid dreaming, I don't know if it's tied into the fact I'm sliding into mania or not
But I love lucid dreaming, I think it's the only way I have of combating nightmares because I tend to have some really awful ones that include dismemberment, and sometimes ex boyfriends and then even stranger when I dream of the ex boyfriends they come back

it sux

Necromancer 07-09-2013 10:36 PM

Wow, you guys really have a lot of nightmares. I have the same dreams over and over, not necessarily nightmares though.

To be honest, the only time I have a predicted nightmare is when I take a pain pill. A couple of Vicodin will guarantee some scary ass dreams, furniture elevating across the floor, ghost, you name it, excluding a full blown exorcism. :p:

Sansa Stark 07-09-2013 10:39 PM

Last night I dreamt that Bill Murray fired a harpoon at the only black kid from highschool, because he'd thrown a dodgeball into his Hallmark trinket store and broken a shelf.

I wish I could say that... Man I sometimes feel like an evil presence is right by me while I'm semiconscious just before falling to sleep or after waking up.

Thats a Bitch, ya know, especially when you like opioid's. :D

 I bet it was because of something you watched/seen on TV.

Sounds like a sequel in part from Caddyshack, Radio, and Dodgeball.

CrazyVegn 07-10-2013 12:29 PM

Sorry, guys... I haven't been sleeping well as I've been busy w/ art and bills, and the heat HOWEVER I did have nightmares last two nights.
Tuesday night's was an empathetic response to Herm's zombie dream (I wanted to have it so I did so it was the same theme) and last night's I cannot remember yet, but I get visions of it this morning and a few minutes ago. It is sad and long. :(

Sansa Stark 07-11-2013 10:44 PM

I dreamt this afternoon during my nap that I somehow came to a mausoleum and like, it was a made up crime scene but also someone's house, and it was this fancy ass dining room and I went to open up this piano cover (I have a strange compulsion for touching/playing pianos whenever I see one) and it was this massive child cooking stove

I woke up mad and stayed mad for like two hours

CrazyVegn 07-12-2013 01:19 PM

A couple nights ago a Mexican gang was dipping into my purse, taking out wads of money. Once I noticed I went into a rage and demanded they give me back more than they took. They agreed and then I ran like hell into the nearby hospital. Altho it was nighttime all the lights were on and the whole building was filled w medical students sitting down at tables, dissecting a human body. Somewhere behind me the gang was gaining speed so I broke into the closed cafeteria w nothing but a pop machine light glowing.

The night before's I cant recall...

I just woke up from a dream about someone here...:o:
