A dream ghost..??) who starting walking toward me--he was the most beautiful person I'd ever seen, with short wavy dark hair and dark eyes and I stared adoringly while my ex watched this and smiled in a bemused way and nodded as if to say "Go ahead." I wandered off and found this woman (chubby and petite, blonde, too-tight ponytail) who was frantically clutching a piece of paper. She wouldn't talk. I told her something like, "It's ok, you can show me what's on it; I was thinking of it just yesterday and we've both been here before." She showed me and all it said was "South Carolina". My ex was suddenly behind me and he pointed at the paper and practically leaped for joy, and I was thrilled as well for some reason. I told him, "I dreamed this before." The woman seemed to be calmer now.
I don't remember the rest but right before it ended I was in a field with an old Victorian four-post wooden bed sitting in the center of it. There were bloody hand prints on the front two banisters. Then I woke up with Nick Cave & The Bad Seed's "I Let Love In" in my head so that's a bit ominous.

That's a goodun. I love weird dreams.

Especially the ones that end with a Nick Cave song.

Mr. Charlie 01-30-2017 12:38 PM

Haha. Yeah. The perfect ending.

Well, you certainly can't have a bloodied bed in the middle of a field without Nick Cave wailing in the distance; it just wouldn't make sense!

Any of y'all ever have lucid dreams?

Mr. Charlie 01-30-2017 03:05 PM

Yeah, I lucid dream from time to time. But I can't do it at will, it just happens sometimes for reasons I can't explain. It's fun though because when you know it's a dream you can play around a bit and do what you ordinarily wouldn't.

It's actually pretty easy to train yourself how to do it regularly, should you ever want to. I find it difficult to stay in them though; it's difficult not to get over-excited and wake yourself up immediately. But basically you just ask yourself at regular intervals throughout the day if you're dreaming. Every single day. (and really making sure by counting your fingers and looking at your hands or something) Soon enough the habit carries on into your dreams (for instance, you'll count your fingers and find that your hands look distorted) and voila!

What the **** @ my brain...

Dreamed I was at a school or mall, living there for about a week. Each night, a group of men would wander around antagonizing everyone, hitting and slapping them, pouring blood on them etc. It was almost ritualistic? It escalated gradually, just a little bit each night. I was weirdly attracted to one of them; he'd visit me and mostly just slap me a little to which I thought "eh, nbd" which seemed to confuse him. But then it got to the point where they were kicking people in the head and hitting them with crowbars and dragging them down the halls, locking them up in the bathroom, etc. It was impossible to hide from them. During the daytime, though, they were different; they seemed to be in a daze and not remember what they did. I was among the very few women there; most of them banded together (and they all had matching gaping wounds on their left temple) but I stayed by myself.

We (myself and the others who were being terrorized) found out that the whole thing was part of some government experiment .. (involving aggression and superhuman tracking ability? I don't remember) One of them admitted to it-- he pretended to help me escape, then suddenly stopped and pushed my face against the ground with his boot while casually telling me about the whole plan.

At some point I finally escaped; I dove into a river and laid at the bottom and then I woke up.

Haha. Mental.

I dreamt last night that I was hanging out with a few people and this guy was talking about some kind of uninformed medicine nonsense and I asked him if he heard that from a reliable source. He said no, that he had heard it from his uncle who was wrong about **** all the time. That's when I knew it was a dream. So I started to control my dream and I did a saxophone duet with John Coltrane that was really great. There were drums and piano and guitar and other **** when there needed to be but the other performers were faceless. It felt like I was playing them all at once but my mind was focused on the sax.

Tl;dr someone being rational made me realize I wasn't in reality.

I had a dream where Plankton showed me this amazing but relatively easy to play riff on an acoustic guitar. It was based on some variations of a D major chord. Damn did it sound good.
