Because they hurt, they're uncomfortable, and bad for your feet and legs! Plus the kinds of things I do in everyday life would not go well with heels. I work in a Primary School so I'm constantly chasing after kids and playing games and stuff. And when I go out it's usually to a pub or live gigs; I don't think heels would go down well in a mosh pit.

See! Heels are not needed.

There are products you can buy that you can put in the shoes to make them comfortable, and you don't have to wear really high ones if you are worried about your feet. I think even wearing them occassionally can make you feel really gorgeous.

Astronomer 06-17-2009 07:38 PM

Meh, I'm not a girly girl. Not for me :)

Scarlett O'Hara 06-17-2009 07:45 PM

Haha I've seen tomboys wear heels before but hey, each to their own.

I'm a total tomboy...I play sports (football mostly) and video games, and can drink beer with the boys. I do love my sneakers and flip flops. But when getting dolled up for a night on the town, a sexy pair of heels are essential. They can make the outfit really, are slimming and make me taller! (5'4" here) And the right pair won't kill your feet.

Hehe you sound like my kind of girl! I'd fully get on the beer with you and the boys anyday. :D

Heels don't do much for a woman who doesn't need what they offer.
I wouldn't think a confident woman would need to justify that.

Just my opinion though.

I'm confident and so when I wear them I feel like a supermodel.

Not all girls want to feel like a supermodel.
Some of them just don't feel like they're cut out for it, and still, some just don't place importance in it.

I know how important self-confidence boosters are in a girl, but ya gotta realize that not all girls are the same.
But to be fair, girls are amazing judges of their own selves, and 8 out of 10, the girl making her physical decisions is making the right ones.

You're not at fault for being yourself.
But the moment you try to assume someone else should be like you, that's a fault. :)

NSW 06-17-2009 08:43 PM

I don't think Vanilla was trying to say all that, but maybe I misunderstood???

I for one agree with both girls...wear whats ****ing comfortable. And if that's heels or sneaks or whatever then get on with your bad self.

I don't know how else to interpret a comment that states "when I wear heels, I feel like a supermodel".
In context with her previous discussion with S.Red, it leads me to a natural conclusion.
I'm not faulting her, I'm just saying that not everyone shares her sentiments.
But I'm just a guy, so what do I know?

Basically all I meant by that is that personally heels make me feels seksi. I do not in any way want to force others to wear what I wear if it makes them uncomfortable. If they did listen to everything I said I would say they don't have much of a personality.

Hehe I see.
But you wouldn't mind her coming over to your house and trying her out in some clothes, would ya?
:D

I wouldn't mind being there when that happens, btw.

This so reminds me of the movie Clueless, where the cool girls make the new nerdy girl hot and popular too!

I love the idea of styling people, so yes can come watch and give your opinions ;)

Haha deal!

shiseido red, you ready for your close up? :D

Astronomer 06-17-2009 09:48 PM

Nope, I wanna stay as the nerdy girl. Popularity is overrated.

Scarlett O'Hara 06-17-2009 09:52 PM

Haha never said I was popular, I just want a real life barbie doll to play with!

You don't come off as nerdy to me.

Do you have a computer made of Legos?
(Because that would be awesome)

The last pair in the store, in my size, on sale for $50. Respect.

Freebase Dali 06-18-2009 02:20 AM

^ I can deal with that.

Thanks man! I wasn't expecting to get compliments. I started wearing them as I started longboarding and it was really wearing down my canvas sneakers. Before these I went through quite a few pairs of these:

http://www.justfocus.org.nz/wp-content/nosweats200.jpg

Basically Converse ripoffs but made by unionized workers out of recycled rubber... Sort of the anti-Nike. I know, I know, it's way too hippie for a metalhead. What can I say, I love Dragonaut by Sleep.

Anyway, I think I'm going to have to pick up another pair of canvas sneaks... I have to stand almost all day at my job and it's so hot these days that the thick skate shoes give me heat rash sometimes. :/

EDIT: I should also mention that my mom practically forced me into buying shoes what weren't canvas as she wouldn't stop bitching about how often I had to replace them. She told me I should buy "sensible leather shoes". I almost went for leather Converse until I realized that shit is gay.

I have white and grey eras atm... they're alright, not as comfortable as a nike but, not as bad as chucks.

And, it's these today

Bought these today after losing my Duffs over the weekend. Sensible shoes can fuck off until I'm at least 50.

Mirrorball95 06-30-2009 03:23 PM

Sadly, I clicked on this thread thinking it would be about the band lol...

jackhammer 06-30-2009 03:25 PM

Then it would be in the Electronica section! (I did the same first time too ;)

lol really? I thought they were another 'uncool' band. Too add to the coolness, it was actually my driving instructor who got me into them:laughing:

Those are dope, and you are to be commended for possessing the proper attitude. Now go skate.

You know what I want?

A pair of any of the following.

http://www.gearfuse.com/wp-content/u...e-sneaker4.jpg
http://www.gearfuse.com/wp-content/u...e-sneaker5.jpg

Geeky, but I'd wear 'em proud. Too bad about the 220 dolalr price tag though.

gunnels 08-15-2009 11:28 AM

Recently got me some early 80's looking orange Reebok's.
Awesome stuff.
