You're joking right?

You do realise families don't have the right to lock their child away from all of society just because they're deaf. So if my sister was deaf, and I let her go into the city for a day, it would be wrong of me to be upset if she died?

cardboard adolescent 03-14-2006 07:43 PM

Statistically speaking, someone dies every second. Are we supposed to empathize with every one of them? What's the point, anyway, considering they're dead? If out of all these countless deaths one of them happens to be quite ironic we might as well derive some humor from it.

No, but you shouldn't be deriding them either.

Earth to Merkaba, did you read through all the posts? Thats what I thought.
If you kept on reading Bungalow posted another story about someone dying because of their own gas, because he ate beans and what not in an almost air tight room.

Oh I see, usually one doesn't bother to read all 30 40 posts in the thread but I guess it pays to check...*eats some humble pie, mmmm blueberry*.

Stone Magnet 03-14-2006 08:21 PM

Death is never comical, regardless of the circumstances.

tdoc210 03-14-2006 08:26 PM

yes it is
especially if your a killer....

Stone Magnet 03-14-2006 08:37 PM

You like black metal though, so your opinion is invalid.

You are silly. You are really working hard on that medal aren't you. This 88 year old man, who had a rat problem, killing his rat is now an 'abuser'?

Is it more humane to lure the mouse onto a platform, under the impression that it will be cured of its hunger, only to have its neck crashed down upon, snapping its spinal cord, causing parylsis, and minutes later...death?

Because that is the accepted method of killing rats.

How dare you laugh at that! YOU SATANIST! /jibber

Oh damn, I can't wait for jibbers witty replies to the posts in this thread.
And then she will, after insulting a person, turn around and preach humanitarianism. Keep your bull**** to yourself.

Urban Hat€monger ? 03-14-2006 09:14 PM

Has Jibber got PMT or something?every thread i`ve been in she`s bitching about something

People cant appreciate good irony anymore.

bungalow 03-14-2006 09:14 PM

She's in the running for the Nobel Prize this year. Haven't you heard?!?

Adora 03-14-2006 09:16 PM

Yeah I believe I read that a few pages back. :p

Urban Hat€monger ? 03-14-2006 09:33 PM

I just find it funny that someone considers killing mice/rats inhumane.

Those are obviously the words of someone who`s never had an infestation of them. They`re vermin & if you pussyfoot around trying to be humane to them you`ll be infested by them in no time.
Last one I saw got gillotined in half with a spade , I don`t care if it was humane or not , I don`t want them taking over my house.

MURDER JUNKIE 03-14-2006 09:39 PM

I'm an as*hole, that sh*t is funny

perhaps I can run for some sort of anti-nobel peace prize.
I would win hands down

Heaven forbid she post her opinion on this. How would you feel if your mom was hit by a train? Oh of course you'd be laughing your ass off right? I don't see whats so funny about it, its not even ironic dumbass.

A_Perfect_Sonnet 03-14-2006 11:07 PM

The echoing reason for why you're all being inconsiderate douchebags about the situation ("IT'S IRONIC, HUHYUCK YUCK YUCK") is completely off base. It would be ironic if she were hit by a training that was carrying hearing aids as freight, not the solitary fact that she was hit by the train. This is really more tragic than anything, so get off of Jibber's back and move on to being uneducated morons in some other thread.

bungalow 03-14-2006 11:10 PM

Its ironic because 'according to witnesses, the engineer blew the horn numerous times before hitting the girl'

A_Perfect_Sonnet 03-14-2006 11:14 PM

I doubt the engineer knew the girl was deaf, and since there was no audience (because mind you, this ISN'T a play, it's real life) you can't even place it in the catagory of dramatic irony. It's not funny, or ironic, so get off of it.

Urban Hat€monger ? 03-14-2006 11:17 PM

If someone finds it funny they find it funny , argueing won`t change a thing

right-track 03-15-2006 12:12 AM

I'm sure the man who invented the parachute was killed when his brother landed on his head...parachuting.

He was French!

Cheese 03-15-2006 12:15 AM

Whether you're hearing capable or deaf,p*ssing around near railroad tracks is a guaranteed recipe for serious injury or death.

And before any smartarse says anything I've done it myself.

hehe that's like my new fave quote :D

the thing is, you must be a little too easily amused to laugh about a deaf person not hearing the horn. but like, that's also super immature, i dunno why we're wasting our time on this, cause it will obviously not change anyone's opinion.

everyone laughs about different things
there are people laughing about kids being raised in cages
or about people born with malformations

that's life..

while its sad she died, the situation is somewhat comical in a sadistic kind of way. laughing at it is almost like a guilty pleasure. i know its wrong but i cant help but do it anyway.

mosesandtherubberducky 03-15-2006 03:16 PM

Correction. Death is often comical.

And seriously, get a grip. They're dead, it's not like they're gonna cry about it. Either they're completely unaware of their predicatment, thus unaffected by mocking laughter, in a "better place" thus hardly going to get hissy over mocking laughter, or in a "worse place" and thus not deserving of sympathy.

Decoy 03-15-2006 06:39 PM
