Yeah I had to drive through some flooded backroads in my new car, I was ****ing ****ting it. Thankfully Dave is a legend and carried me through . I hadn't even noticed the heavy rain until someone text me haha, even then I didn't think it was bad until I hit some downhills! :O.

Newcastle Central rail station was closed as it was flooded, several metro stations were largely under water, the traffic came to a complete halt as it was taking many people between 5 and 7 hours to get home after work. many cars were left abandoned in the streets, there is of course the video I posted which is a great example of the thunder and lightning and there is another doing the rounds of the sheer volume and pressure of the rain blowing a manhole cover and the water flowing out onto the streets. There was also, sadly, a report of a man being swept away who then died.

I personally was lucky. I was in the pub after work when the storm hit us, it rained hard for a little while and then stopped. I was able to get home without any disruption at all, bar a small 5 minute de-tour as a road was closed. In the meantime though, not 15 or 20 miles up the road there was people completely stuck in bumper-to-bumper traffic between roughly 5pm and 11pm/midnight, if not later.
I just saw on yahoo news that we are going to get another couple of days torrential rain and again your region the north east is going to be the main target.

Default Winter Storm Nemo

Anyone in the Northeast worried about winter storm Nemo? Sounds like Boston and New England will be pummeled with snow.

I wonder why they're calling it Nemo? That's hilarious. Well, we're getting that as well AND it's going to merge with another storm here that's coming from out west. Apparently we're even under a blizzard watch. So yeah, we'll have a crap ton of snow by tomorrow night. My dad's excited because he'll finally get to use his new snowblower.

It looks like we're supposed to get somewhere between 5 and 12. We haven't had any big storms, and winter is on its way out, so I can take it.

I must say I am rather over this summer. Well officially summer is over here but 37 degrees in March is just crazy.

I'm excited about the weather because a teensy bit of snowfall is possible for where I live tomorrow! Never happens! Snow! I'll probably be at work though... (I don't work where I live )
