It's my opinion that U.S. involvment in the middle east is to avoid being reliant on Saudi oil.
Imagine if the Saudi royal family lost power to some religious fanatical organisation that was anti-American.

Not with Mecca being in Saudi Arabia they wouldn't.
Unless they wanted the whole of the Islamic world on their backs.

Interesting that Bin Laden wanted U.S. forces out of Saudi...
