Step Up To The Bar

I dunno if this'll last, but for all our drinkers out there what's some of your favorites? Being the guy behind the bar I'm kinda curious. Me personally, I'm a Jager fiend!

Fenixpunk 05-18-2006 08:36 AM

Beer: anything stout such as Guinness or Murphys

Mixed: Long Island Iced Teas or Gin & Tonics

Shots: Tequila (Sauza Hornitos prefered)

Doc.DGAF 05-18-2006 08:38 AM

Ahhh, tequila, ever eat the worm?

LukeM_UK 05-18-2006 08:46 AM

If the Captain's what makes it happen for ya' try Malibu Rum, it's not as a** kickin' as the Cap but it's a smooth, flavored, sweet kinda rum. Try a Caribou Lou Lite-coconut Malibu Rum and pineapple juice.

hookers with machineguns 05-18-2006 03:42 PM

Beer - PBR, Boulevard (pale ale or wheat), Flying Dog In Heat Wheat, Mac's, usually any Millers are fine, Stag, whatever's on tap for cheap as long as it isn't Budweiser or Beast.

Mixed- Long Islands for sure, captain and coke, jack and coke, cosmopolitans, hennessey and apple juice, incredible hulk, bacardi rum/orange juice/7up, bacaradi 151/malibu rum/pineapple juice, margaritas, anything tasty and drunkening.

Shots- I don't do real shots. Jager bombs, lemon shots, kamakazes...are all quite good.

Definitely one of my favorites. You've had the Incredible Hulk before right? (henn and hypnotik)

I'm not a big fan of Guiness, unless it's in a irish car bomb. I've got some Guiness at the house that no one wants...

riseagainstrocks 05-18-2006 03:55 PM

Beer: Guiness and Killian's Red.

Lite Beer: Miller Lite ain't half bad for games of Beer Pong

Liquor: I hate liquor.

What ya' mean?

So do any of ya'll have a routine when you're drinkin'? Way to start out ya' know.

There's only a two places around here that serve me and one liquor store that'll sell to me, so yeah. If I hit the Sky Bar I start with a double of Bacardi 151 rum, and chase it down with a Jager Bomb, from there it depends on who I'm with, usually a Caribou Lou or Captain Tattoo 'til I'm feelin' something, then I'll slow down to a Drambuie Sour or something. Yeah, yeah, I spend too much money on liquor.

riseagainstrocks 05-19-2006 12:43 PM

He's 16 I think. I'm 17.

therefore Illegal to drink.

Doc.DGAF 05-19-2006 12:51 PM

So? I'm only 18!

Although I haven't drank in years, I used to be a J.D. drinker.

I invented a drink when I was in the army. Fill a blender with ice. Pour in a pint of vodka. Then, take 1/2 a can of frozen concentrated pink lemonade and drop it on top. Blend, grind, crush, whatever, until you have a slushy consistency.

I called it a Pink Floyd.

Ouch! Sounds like a hangover and a half! Gives me a headache just thinkin' about it! How long ago you quit drinkin'?

jr. 05-19-2006 07:06 PM

I haven't touched alcohol for over 3 1/2 years. And yes, to quell any speculation, I am an alcoholic. The day I hit another car with mine was the day I realized I could actually hurt someone else besides myself. I haven't had a drop since.

I miss it sometimes. Not getting drunk, mind you, but the activity of drinking. It was something to do. I drank by myself, of course. I am solitary by nature, that hasn't changed. That's why I like it here at MB. Not to upset anyone, but this is where I can speak to people on my own terms. No one can invade my space, unless I choose to let them.

That's why I don't own a cell phone. Where I am and what I'm doing is my business, and it offends me to think someone can just call me, where ever I might be, whether I want them to or not.

Anyway, about the drinking, I went to AA for about six months. It got to where I couldn't stand it. The same people with the same complaints, day in and day out. "Oh, I wanted to drink so bad today!". They were sober, but still worshipping alcohol, you know? I was like, when are you going to take your life back?

When I quit, I was an alcoholic first and foremost. But, there comes a point where you have to stop letting alcohol control who you are. I evolved from alcoholic, into father, husband, son, brother, coworker, and, oh yeah, I also can't drink because once I start, I can't stop.

You see what I mean? You have to be a person first eventually, or you will live your life in the most miserable way possible: an alcoholic that can't think of anything else but the fact that they can't drink.

Scarlett O'Hara 05-19-2006 07:52 PM

^ I'm really glad to hear you were the bigger person and got through that. It takes a lot of will power. If only we could get through to the other alcoholics out there!

I personally enjoy Jack Daniels, Jim Beam, Southern Comfort, and Candian Club. I'm a whiskey/bourbon kind of girl.

jr. 05-19-2006 07:57 PM

I catch a lot of heat.

*GASP!!!* You're an alcoholic and you don't attend meetings!!?? Oh, my, you're going to drink, you're going to drink you're going to drink!!! LOL.

When the reality is, You know, I hadn't even thought about drinking for months until you brought it up. LOL.

Besides, the meeting closest to my house is always when my kids have a game. Priorities, you know. Hmmm.....do I want to watch my kids play ball...or let's see....go listen to a bunch of people I don't know sing their misery out long and loud?

Scarlett O'Hara 05-19-2006 08:05 PM

People judge what they havn't experienced, they are afraid due to lack of understanding.

hiu 05-19-2006 08:29 PM

Most girls around these parts of New Zealand drink that shitty Smirnoff vodka, the really bad quality NZ made stuff. It's good to see someone drinking the bourbon.

jr. 05-19-2006 08:38 PM

No, I haven't done anything special, really. All I did was get to 'normal'. LOLOLOL.

Doc.DGAF 05-19-2006 08:40 PM

Modesty, also admirable.

Back on topic, I just finished up my fourth Drambuie martini and I'm feelin' pretty good.

PS-Good old spell check.

Vodka is so crap, it tastes awful. Bourbon is incredibly tasty and relaxing, I don't feel I need to get drunk off it.

jr. 05-19-2006 09:30 PM

Yes, getting back to the thread (sorry, my mind goes off on its own at times), how in the world can anyone drink tequila? I never tasted a drop of it. The smell made me gag, literally.

MURDER JUNKIE 05-19-2006 10:11 PM

xEmochicKx 05-19-2006 10:43 PM

Yeah man, that's what'll kill ya'! Can't smell sh*t like that or it'll set off the ol' pukin' reflex. For me that's the way with tequila or good vodka, can't smell just kill it.

Levithan 05-20-2006 07:15 AM

Jager is nice, but spirts, has to be Jack. Larger wise ermm, Cobra's quite nice, but has to be Bhrama, loverly stuff

Doc.DGAF 05-22-2006 10:11 AM

Okay, riddle me this, is Sambuca di Amore supposed to taste like cologne? Or are my taste buds fried?
