What's the most $$ you paid for an album?

I paid $35 for the soundtrack to Casino (great one BTW)...I admit $35 isn't terribly expensive but I'm on a tight budget...however, I'm now bidding $60 on a cd that I REALLY want but I'm sure I'll be outbid before the auction closes...

Reznorslave 07-06-2006 05:32 PM

I paid $70 for a NIN import boxed set of demos and remixes

riseagainstrocks 07-06-2006 10:11 PM

65$ for In Flames - Lunar Strain first print.

I don't pay too much for them. I work in a mean-low-paying place. So the most expensive one has probably been around 25 euros.

dog 07-07-2006 05:01 AM

Ha, I've never seen it sell anywhere for more than 15.

Most I've payed is 30, though I payed about a 100 for a boxset.

Raine 07-07-2006 11:13 PM

damn near 50$ a few years ago for a Mariah Carey import.
And maybe 72$ for a Eugene Parker import

Frances 07-08-2006 12:12 AM

I paid $165 AUD for my beloved Frances the Mute record, there is only 500 of them.

Kripes 07-08-2006 09:23 PM

I don't know because the most I've ever spent is probably around $16. I did spend about $35 though on the Live Aid DVD. I'd never buy the Live 8 DVD though, that thing is a joke.

crow t robot 07-09-2006 12:25 PM

nah...it was "The Rescue"...a limited edition cd sold only on tour...part of the "Travels in Constants" series I think

jazzfromhell 07-09-2006 10:43 PM

I think the most I've paid for a single disc is $30 for Anthony Braxton at Dortmund, 1976. And that was on the internet. I was under the impression that it was two discs (really just a silly assumption, the eBay person didn't give any false info), but if I knew it was just one, I probably would've bought it anyway, it's somewhat rare.

If you want to include box sets, I think the most I've paid is $90 for the Complete Miles Davis at the Plugged Nickel.

$20 for Blackwater Park. That's basically the highest I would ever pay for an album.

DearJenny 07-10-2006 02:01 PM

I dont buy box sets so the most I've ever paid is like 20 bucks. I recently spent 20.15 on Tommy by The Who.

DearJenny 07-10-2006 03:59 PM

I like Best Buy doing their 9.99 for most new released CDs. Helpful if I am strapped for cash and dont want to spend 15.
