The Beauty Process

Do you beautiful people have any little tips to make us all beautiful?

Raine 07-10-2006 07:19 PM

wtf?
Are you looking for fashion advice or something?
Or make up tips then . .

This is a rather broad subject

Merkaba 07-10-2006 07:20 PM

Stay away from excess makeup:)

A little is okay at first but if you depend on it you gradually look worse and worse when your not wearing it.

Moisturiser is a good example. It temporarily brings moisture to the skin, when it's all used, your skin dries out worse then before.

Stay natural to stay beautiful. All yer vitamins and daily intakes of everything that needs to be taken in will do the trick.

Oh I am so writing a book haha.

ER, just to clarify, I am not a female. I do not wear make up. I just happen to know these things

*realises how deep this hole is*:p:

bruise_violet 07-10-2006 07:22 PM

I just thought we could all help each other be beautiful and swap tips on how to be fabulous :)

I like your advice Merkaba. And you are so right, I stopped using face cream and now my skin is so dry!

Raine 07-10-2006 07:32 PM

When it comes to facial creams, try to use water based ones instead of alcohol or ol based ones. They leave your skin feeling the driest and most irritated.
I recommend Neutrogena. It works best if you use it once or twice a day. Once when you wake up and then again before bed.
If you should happen to get a bad case of acne, use toothpaste.

As for make up. . . it depends on the occasion. Although the natural look is always optional

As for hair and shampoo. . . I am of no use I don't think. . . so I'll have to touch on that later.

That's about all the advice I'm good for.

bruise_violet 07-10-2006 07:33 PM

I use Biotherm face cream, it's awesome. A bit expensive though.

jr. 07-10-2006 08:16 PM

Well, I am not beautiful, not by a long stretch. But, I know this: Use natural soap.

All those moisturizing soaps and whatnot? They are just as bad as the moisturizer referred to earlier.

Now, I am not one to 'work' on myself, for sure. I was in a little shop that specializes in spiritual things, i.e., incense, crystals, smudging herbs, etc, and over in the corner, there was a shelf with all natural, vegetable based soaps. I picked up a few bars, and I swear, after I got out of the shower, I felt so relaxed. I never realized how my skin tightened up with those other soaps, until I used these soaps.

I know it's weird, a 42 year old man talking about something like this, but I am serious when I say you should at least get a bar and try it. If you don't like it, then oh well, right?

But for someone like me to even notice a difference, has got to be proof enough to at least give it a shot.

Spike*Spiegel 07-10-2006 11:57 PM

proactiv skin clearing system works.

Raine 07-11-2006 12:04 AM

^ yeah but proactiv is rather expensive.
You know what else is good, something called Eucerin

Spike*Spiegel 07-11-2006 12:08 AM

yeah its a bitch. $50 for an 8 week set. its the only thing thats ever really worked for me though. id tried just about everything else out there and nothing worked.

Well, since you mentioned hair, but wasn't ready to speak on it I'll speak.First of all, different people are attracted to different styles of hair whether it's a comb, cut, style, color, etc..., but the main point is to be confident with what you have and keep it clean everyday, ya see?Now that I mentioned the idea of people styling or coloring their hair one way or the other, I'd have to say that the best hairstyle to have from the start is straight hair.Curly hair, I feel, simply isn't all that sexy to constantly have.If ya wake up with a bed-head too and your partner sees your bed-head all of a sudden, it looks a lot more on the frightening side that if it was simply straight. This doesn't even matter whether it's short or long, although short hair is "less of a mess" to see. When it comes to girls though, I would have to say that most men prefer long hair on women, so if it's not straight, try to straighten it more and let it grow out long and beautiful.Straight hair is what I prefer and think is very sexy, so when I see commercials showing something to curl your hair I just think "are you kiddin' me?", but some people do like that hairstyle though, so do whatever you think will work best.If a girl has straight hair from the start, yet all of a sudden decides to use that curling stuff, I'd find her so much less desirable and attractive. If I was already thinking of breaking up with her, that would be a reason why I'd immediately have to say yes.

Adding to this discussion, hair color can be fun and the cool thing about it is that you can switch from one color to the other with no regrets if one color doesn't work out, ya know?I myself find darkhaired women quite attractive and actually prefer many of them over blondes, unlike what most would think.Yes, alot of men are hot for blondes (and so am I too), but the color of the hair isn't always the most important, as I previously said.I also think lipstick is another great thing to make a lady sexier to the eye and taste.I've seen women with many different shades/colors of lipstick going from pink to dark red.For the most part, I think lipstick should be worn by all attractive ladies and would recommend just a basic red for the color.I don't think women should cover their faces with a lot of stuff either. As others have said before, the natural beauty is what matters most from the start...
...especially if the ladies are looking for a long lasting relationship. If it's a one night stand, fine, cover yourself up and let it be a one night stand, but that night, just like the natural beauty, will fade away by the next day.

So I don't keep on going on for too long, I'll describe what a beautiful woman would most likely look like:

1. Confident, with intelligence and personality.

2. Clean skin with no need for any covering lotions...natural beauty is great!!!

3. Straight hair, preferably long although short is fine as long as it's not too short.

4. Wears lipstick that showcases her beautiful, sexy lips.By the way, the lipstick is also a great incentive if you really wan't the guy to kiss you, provided it looks clear and glossy and isn't smudged on the face.

5. Eye color really doesn't matter much (to me atleast), but I do think I also prefer the darker colors for them as well...black, brown, green.

6. I like girls with their hair colored black, brown, dark red and sometimes a mixed combination.A dominating girl with long, straight black hair with red highlights sounds sexy. The same could be said for long, straight red hair with black too.

7. Lose weight and keep in shape. If you're already in good shape then stay in shape!!!(Just another tip.)

8. I like women that are atleast 5' 5" tall, but could fall for a shorter woman if my heart told me to.Afterall, the power of love could make you fall in love with even your worst enemy...lol.

9. I don't like naggers, plain and simple...lol!!!

10. Don't ask for and depend on all of my money all the time.Maybe you could even work a little yourself, ya hear?Cheers to beautiful people.

Spike*Spiegel 07-11-2006 12:14 AM

just make sure you never got to bed with your makeup still on.

baby wipes are an excellent alternative to those oily eye makeup removers

we don't care about your preferences, the thread was about beauty tips
plus you say those are things that make a woman beautiful
i don't think curly hair means you're ugly, but you seem to think straight hair makes you beautiful.
so.. correct this: "I'll describe what a beautiful woman would most likely look like" to "I'll describe what a beautiful woman would most likely look like FOR ME"
okay done my job here

Man, you must be one of those curly hair bitches, right...lol? If you think I was simply degrading you or anyone else with curly hair, then you're wrong.I simply said that if ya got straight hair, I'd prefer it that way instead of curly.Yes, that was a tip to make someone beautiful just like the thread initially asked.I didn't say all curly haired women were ugly either, I simply said it would be a good reason to dump someone though, if I was already questioning the relationship, ya see?Well, I guess you haven't been in enough relationships to understand, but don't get mad at me because of that. You are what you are and so is everybody else.Stay ugly if that's what you prefer, I don't mind.

And yes, your job is done...
...if spamming was your job, that is.

sleepy jack 07-11-2006 02:08 AM

Woh woh, dump someone because they have curly hair?

Wake up. Wash hair. Comb. Apply deoderant.

Hit the town.

bruise_violet 07-11-2006 10:53 AM

About make-up, any one else use Urban Decay? I love it, it lasts for ages, it's really fun bright colours, and best of all, it's animal friendly.

I didn't touch on the topic of hair because I didn't have the time for it.
You shouldn't have touched on the subject because a lot of this is a bunch of sh*t advice.

Part of the reason your advice was bad is because you were mostly talking about what you look for in a person with what you think is an attractive quality/feature for girls. If it is that important to you (and judging by the length of your post it is), post it in the guys: what do you look for in a girl thread or something.

I could pick a part this entire post.
Instead here's some advice from me to you: go off youself.

Now for some actual good/better advice to looking beautiful

1) Feeling beautiful is part of being beautiful in my opinion. When you first wake up in the morning, maybe stretch for about a minute at the least and you'll feel relaxed at the start of you day. And it just helps contribute to you being in a good mood and feeling good about yourself.

2) As for hair care, no matter your hair type, I recommend head and shoulders shampoo, dove, L'Oreal and Pantene Pro-V. Although if you use Pantene shampoo I recommend the conditioner as well. And my experience with shampoos and conditioners is that Pantene works really really well. It works for damaged and colored treated hair too. L'Oreal is more or elss geared towards color treated hair in my experience. My hair grows more when it's dyed and I use L'Oreal. But once color grows out and I continue to lose L'Oreal I'm prone to dead, flat hair. So I dunno.

crow t robot 07-11-2006 02:07 PM

Brushing my teeth makes me feel pretty...If I'm feeling daffy, I might even take a shower!

xEmochicKx 07-11-2006 02:19 PM

Redken anti-snap leave-in conditioner is a little expensive (about 20$) but if you put a small amount in your hair once a week it leaves it really healthy and its good cause its not oily and lasts for a long time.

Put the perfume Amor Amor in a spray bottle and mix it with alot of water and spray it on your hair its the best

Dab powder on your eyelashes before applying mascara to make them look thicker and longer

color your lips with a bit of lip liner before putting gloss so it makes it last longer and if you find one that isnt too expensive try a lip plumper

Try taking off your eye makeup by applying Nivea cream and wiping your eyes with a kleenex. It removes it really well and moisturizes your eyes at the same time

Mix a bit of glowing powder into your moisturizer it gives a nice shine for a night out

No, not L'oreal, they are the WORST for animal testing.

I think trying too hard is very unattractive. Shower, brush your teeth and, wear clean clothes. That suffices.

bruise_violet 07-11-2006 07:24 PM

A good tip; always remember to put high-factor sun cream on if you are wearing fishnet tights in the sun...

A criss-cross tan is not a good look.

MURDER JUNKIE 07-11-2006 07:26 PM

I think it's HAWT!!!

It's like having sex with someone wearing fishnets,
but they're not wearing fishnets,
so they don't get in the way

junckie.....

well either way, i like to tan when i can that is, about once every 2 week in the tanning bed for 20 min maintenance, it all good

Real_Eyez_C_Real_Lies 07-11-2006 08:35 PM

Proactiv is good, but if you miss a wash, its......its just all bad, so chyea

*Oily hair can irritate the skin, causing ache. So don't use so much hair products. Esp. if you one of the people to have face laying down on your face!

*Make sure to wash your hair regularly(every week, every week and three days, etc.)

*Try to put your hair in something at night. Don't leave your hair sprawled out, so it can touch your skin at night

*Use cosmetics or sunscreen that don't clog your pores or cause things. Try not to wear consealer all the time, cut down to important occasions.

*Avoid using moisturizers on acne-conquered areas, unless its made to treat them of course

*Use treatments that have salicylic acid and/or benzoyl peroxide

*Wash face morning and night

*make sure you have the right Face wash and after-wash-products for your skin type

*Rinse face with warm water, before applying your Face wash. Then rub the face wash in for at least one minute, then rinse off with cold water. Dry off and apply whatever after(moisturizer, etc.)

*Dont scrub your face everyday or too hard

*Dont use masks everyday

*Don't pop or pick at your pimples. But if you're a poppa, pop them in the morning or at night or both. Cause right after, its best to wash your face.

*Try to chill out, stress does not help

*Excercise regularly, and this is a good way of venting out anger/stress/strong-emotions. Lay off the tight clothes when excercising, causes body pimples. Wash your face and take a bath/shower after, it helps.

*Drink lots of water a day, obviously

*If you have body pimples, there are specific body washes for that

*Clean cosmetic brushes or anything like that

*Change razors after about 5-7 shaves or whenever it gets dull, cause it starts to irritate the skin. Moisturize after or whatever.

mosesandtherubberducky 07-11-2006 08:50 PM

If you have long hair and oily skin the long hair just adds to problems (I can attest to this)

Brush your hair as often as your brush your teeth, because tangled hair is a big bitch.

brush your tongue, it makes conversation much easier

Eat regularly and healthy

Sun=good for your skin just don't over do it

same with fish i think

but that's all I have to offer.

bruise_violet 07-11-2006 08:55 PM

Don't bite your nails, that's a good one.

Real_Eyez_C_Real_Lies 07-11-2006 08:59 PM

For girls who need their hair to grow, put your hair in braids. This is more for black girls, because white hair is too silky. Anyways, or you can sew on weave, that helps too. Make sure to be using the right shampoos/conditioners(cause some are for one skin type and others are for both). Don't use that glue on your hair either, it stops hair from growing. And let your hair breathe, so don't have braids and weave all the time.

bruise_violet 07-11-2006 09:05 PM

I think the braids look awesome on black girls, but not so much on white girls because the scalp just looks too white, you know?

bungalow 07-11-2006 09:07 PM

I don't need your tips to be beautiful :p:

well it could look good with the right style. Always gotta find the style that dos you. Got a problem with the scalp, no problem, do a style that hides/covers the scalp. But the thing is, it takes lots of hair products to get your silky hair to stay in the braid-formation for long.

And it can also irritate your scalp if you're not use to it...

And sometimes it hurts bad, so you gotta take Aleve or something, and you gotta figure out which way to sleep with less pain as possible.

potato 07-11-2006 10:03 PM

Simple tip to look beautiful: try to put your makeup on so it looks like you're not wearing any. The more natural looking you are the better.

explosions-in-my-pants 07-11-2006 10:31 PM

don't ware so much make up that you look so hot its like sun rays.. and then when the next morning comes you look like a idiot that your boyfriend which at this point won'[t love you and can still leave at anytime.
ware enough that it just evens out your skin tone and if you ware make up on your cheeks and chin areas then you have to ware it all over your face and neck, and you should always use the chooses color to your skin tone when it comes to the creams, and then ware a Brush on make up over it and it has to be a tone darker then the cream make up so your don't look like a pale moron. If you ware eye shadow, you should never go with bright colors, notthing that stands out too much, something that doesn't make you look like a drugie, thats never a good look.

I'am pale and I have light brown hair, with big blue eyes, and my skin is a bit uneven. I ware the palest cream make up with the shade darker brush on ove rit, then I ware black eye liner some times.. and black eye lash stuff. every now and again I'll ware a gloss on my lips and mix it with a lip stick to give it that place pink with the fresh look to it.. even tho it could have been there sesne morning. and if I ware eye shadow I only ware light pinks, or very, very light browns.
