By loved ones i think he mean's family.

And it is possible to love people and find them annoying at the same time.

I love all of my older sisters but they're all annoying as hell.

Uh, he also said overrated. I don't consider family/friends overrated, i'd rather have a family/friends then not sorry. I don't think its the least bit overrated.

Family (as in the people I share DNA with) are rather overrated and given too much credit sometimes.
Friends (for the most part from my experiences) are not.

And the saying goes:
friends are the family we choose for ourselves.

I agree with that completely. I love my friends more than anything in the world.

These are the rules that I live by.

I can actually count all the times my family's been there for me. The number of times my firends have been there for me is an infinite number.
Sure sometimes we get on each other's nerves but goddamn I can honestly say i still love them by the end of the day.
My friend's jen and Jason are spending the night with me because they're worried about my health. My mom didn't even come to the hospital the other day.
