Yep that's me nearly every Halloween. All you need is some old ripped clothes, a bit of make-up and fake blood and you're sorted! To be honest I could never really be bothered to make a proper effort.
Although two years ago I just went out dressed normal but with a realistic-looking bullet wound on my forehead. People were genuinely impressed.

I guarantee you'll get fucked hard or fought hard depending on how much of your lumps you feel like showing off and how drawn you are to people who feel contempt for you for having the balls to wear such a strange clothing arrangement that's barely a whisp of a pop culture reference. I find this sort of thing far more personally satisfying than having a costume that nearly nobody gets. And I have no shame in getting personal satisfaction from copying some fictional character's outfit and often bastardizing it in the process. Simple pleasures.

I'll be getting dressed up as the same thing I do every year.
A miserable fucker staying home instead of going out and feeling pressured/forced into joining in with the whole thing when all I want is to do is drink. |

Yeah I know how you feel, I'm not really into the whole dressing-up part of halloween. To be honest I'd rather stay in with a few mates, drink and have a horror movie marathon. Although I miss the good old days of standing around a bonfire drinking cans of Bravaria and setting off illegal fireworks.

Come on guys, Halloween is amazing. It's a chance for theatricality, creativity, ridiculousness that nearly everybody takes a part in. It's probably the least serious major holiday out there. I realize the Pagan origins of it and the Marilyn Manson fans stealing cats to sacrifice to Satan and that's all well and good but creepy things are available to me every day. Colorful, hedonistic celebrations are not.

I don't doubt you can make a fun night of it, it just isn't anything to me. It's another night of the week. It certainly isn't a holiday.
When I was a kid it was fun and it was exciting, now it's just an annoyance cause if I wanna go out I either have to dress up or tolerate a hundred people asking me why I'm not dressed up. I usually just stay in and go out another night now. |
