Liddell/Ortiz II

So UFC Lightheavyweight Champion Chuck Liddel (pictured in my avatar) will once again square off with #1 contender Tito Ortiz on Dec. 30. Liddel won their first exchange in 2004 with an impressive knockout early in the second round. Tito complains that Chuck caught him with a thumb to the eye in the first round, virtually blinding him (what a cry baby). This is definitely one of the biggest MMA match-ups in recent memory. Ive got my money on Liddell, but Tito's basically got the UFC judges wrapped around his little d*ck (remember the Ortiz/Griffin fight?). Aaaaaaaaaaaaand.....discuss.

I like UFC a lot. Oritz does have the judges, however the judges wont be any part of this fight. Chuck is knockin him the fuck out.

Chuck is basically invincible in the octagon. The only time Ive ever seen him struggle (besides losing to Couteur) was in PFC when he fought Quinton "Rampage" Jackson. Rampage's style is just so unorthodox that chuck didnt know how to go at him. It was also Chuck's first fight in PFC, and he should have known better than to go for someone like Jackosn, someone who is young and just trying to make a name for himself.

December 30th. Dont forget it.

If by "won" you mean "contracted hepatitis" then you may be right.

Rampage just signed with the UFC...and that was Chuck's 3rd or 4th fight in PFC..Rampage's style is also much less orthodox than Chuck's Kempo

Rampage jumped ship?! thats gonna be awesome. I cant wait to see Jackson/Ortiz or Jackson/Griffin:beer: I also heard that Mirko "CroCop" Filipovic is coming to UFC:bowdown: This dude's gonna beat the sh*t out of Sylvia for sure.

crow t robot 12-21-2006 06:11 PM

You are correct, sir! Sylvia is in trouble...Heath Herring and Lyoto Machida

also just signed UFC contracts...2007 should be very interesting

yeah it looks like it may be the end for Pride...Sucks cuz I like Pride's

rules...I'd rather the UFC picked them up than WWE though...the matchups

are mind-boggling

well WWE is very interested b/c PFC also runs a pro wrestling company in japan, and WWE wants to branch out. And ive heard that UFC isnt very interested in buy PFC, just trying to get their talent to jump. And i don realy like PFC as well, i prefer the cage to the ring and PFC rferees tend to not stop the TKO's in a timely manner.

crow t robot 12-21-2006 06:23 PM

Oh..and Liddell's gonna stomp Tito's ass

yeah, he says he's got 4 or 5 fights in him and wants to do them via a TNA PPV. but theres also rumors that he has changed his mind. only time will tell. Brock Lesnar is currently being trained by Royce Gracie for a possible K-1 fight in the near future.

crow t robot 12-21-2006 06:29 PM

Bob Sapp vs Brock Lesnar...that would be awesome

found this:

Tokyo Sports reports that Kurt Angle is in negotiations to fight at the K-1 Dynamite 12/31 Osaka Dome event, according to Zach Arnold. As previously noted, Angle's TNA deal is not an exclusive contract.
But if Angle had his MMA debut 10 days away, I think we would have seen something advertised about:rolleyes:

Im gonna go ahead and make a prediction. Liddell wins by referee stoppage due to punches in the 3rd round.

Laces Out Dan! 12-22-2006 03:53 PM

you actually think that its gunna make it to the 3rd round.
Yes Ortiz has a good solid chin, but Chuck is almost unhuman.

As much as I hate Ortiz, the guy is good at what he does. He's on a 4 or 5 fight winning streak, and has confidence out the ying-yang. Chuck's still definitely gonna win, but It wont be a 10 second knockout.

I just watched the whole fight night now. I dont like the way the Fight ended but i think Chuck would have knocked him out anyways.

no joke, tito survived that barrage of punches in the first round and most likely could have survived the last one if the ref hadnt stopped it so damn early

Timorous Vince 01-02-2007 07:29 AM

Man, i felt so bad for Griffin when he lost. Not so much for the loss itself, but for the likely loss of a seven figure payday in 2007. I guess there's money in an Ortiz vs. Griffin rematch. Anyway, a year from now, Quinton Jackson will be Light-heavyweight champion. Gotta hand it to Liddell though - he avoided Tito's shooting all night long. He is definitely an underrated wrestler.

And as for Kurt Angle, I would say he is most-likely to fight Couture. They have a history together back in their amateur wrestling days - Randy and Mike Goldberg, in fact, seemed to hint at the possibility during the pay per view.

Yeah, but Jardine earned it. I really like Forrest Griffin and since Ortiz just got knocked down a few rungs, theres definitely gonna be a rematch (and deservedly so b/c Griffin got royally screwed by the judges in their first fight).

I cant wait for Liddell/Jackson. Its gonna be interesting to see who all they put Rampage up against until he gets a title shot. I know he's facing Marvin Eastman at the nexy PPV (Eastman holds a victory over him in his younger days at a King Of The Cage event). And I also cant wait for CroCop/Sylvia. Sylvia actually isnt a very good fighter, he's just really damn tall. And CroCop is gonna kick his face in:laughing:

Dana White has already said numerous times that Kurt Angle will not be fighting in the UFC, ever. Angle has hinted at doing an MMA match on a TNA PPV, and theres been talk of him doing some K-1. But I wouldnt hold your breath on him doing any fights. I just dont think its gonna happen.

Oh yeah, definitely not taking anything away from Jardine, just saying Griffin is supposed to be the golden boy of drawing power for the UFC haha

I'd almost rather see Cro Cop go light-heavyweight and drop the 15-20 pounds. The heavyweight division in the UFC is in a pretty sad state.

Yeah, I could see Kurt fighting at a TNA PPV, but it wouldn't draw nearly the money that it really SHOULD. Plus, there's be a lot of speculation as to whether or not it was "worked". Haha.
