Global warming means that the planet's temperature as a whole is growing resulting in spectacular climate changes. Hurricanes in Europe and ice storms in America would fall into that category.

but not all of America had the major ice storms and the extreme winter storms that some parts experienced, up here in michigan we didnt have anything close to winter until last Monday, than it hit. its been like this for the last four years or so. so i believe while the temp around the world is riseing, its most likely due to a cycle

So what you're trying to say is, because this global phenomenon is not affecting a few square miles of your fair land, it isn't really global?

not in that way no, what im sayin is that if its "global" how come not all places are affected. everywhere is experienceing odd weather, its a cycle from the whore which we call mother nature. you cant say that the world is warming because of the polution. if that was the case, then how come ice ages happend and melted. its a cycle, i see more proof of a cycle than global warming

It's called "global" warming because it affects a large portion of our planet, we can't call it "almost global but not really" warming, it just isn't as catchy. Pollution is definitely harming the ozone layer, I'm just not certain to what extent.

ok, i see what you mean by that, but what confuses me is how that the affected areas seem to change places?

I am also confused, say what? Affected areas seem to change places? I'm gonna need you to elaborate on that one.
