gots me an ipod, but iz too retarded to use it
Ok, so how does one transfer files to an ipod?:confuzzled: This shit is supposed to be user friendly and I can't figure it out for the life of me. Drag and drop what? I click on the library button in itunes, choose, say, an album and try to drop it in the device, but it can't...
Help! |
first, set it to manuel, on your itunes click on your ipod to do so.
next, click the first song in your library, then hold shift, and click on the last one. You have now highlighted every song in there, then just drag it all into your ipod. |
If you click on 'FILE' the drop down box will give you the option of transfering a single file or a whole folder into it.
Thats how I do it anyway |
o and one more thing, if you want to be able to get music off other people's computer leave it on manuel, or it will delete your library and replace it with his.

Ok, so one more question, does anyone know if you can manage the sound quality on an ipod nano? Bass and shit..? |

I love you adidass but you're retarded. I guess you're not capitalist enough to work such items.
What kind did you get? |
oh silly addidass

Ok, so one more question, does anyone know if you can manage the sound quality on an ipod nano? Bass and ****..?
^ Well, Big3, I dunno about you, but I'm guessing an Ipod Nano... |
Lol@paper...I was just gonna say that...and the man dares call me retarded...:giggle:
Gimme a break big3, who would thunk of pressing shift and switching to manual...that ain't what I call user friendly... |

automatic, means every time you plug in the ipod it will automatically sync all new songs, pics, etc on there. Since you have a "nano"(lulz, i gots teh video) i reccomend not automatically syncing photos(just uncheck the box) since it will take a lot of room. Also, i reccomend deleting album artwork, allowing you to squeeze some extra songs on there. Also, for if you do jack some songs from a mate. Download idump, apple is too *** to give you the option to put songs from your ipod to your comp. |

And no one has answered my question about sound settings. |

Which is what I meant, but you can get much more than the nano. I almost grabbed a ipod video but apparently it has moving parts that can get damaged if you run with it. And now you're both retarded. |

@addidass, if you click view, then equalizer it has a bunch of setting, all of which im too scared to fittle around with. Mabey thats what your looking for. |
I don't know what to tell you, talk to the amazingly hot indian girl who sold me mine.
Ok so now my turn to look stupid, is there a way to have individual play lists shuffle on the ipod. It will allow me to shuffle all of my songs, but not within a playlist, or at least it seems that way. |
im nearly positive there isnt, at least not officially.
though you can make an -on-the-go playlist at any time using your ipod, just hold down the center button and it will send any song you want to the playlist section of your ipod. |

It's gray... Thanks Matious, I found something in the settings, although I hate these preset options (i.e. jazz, dance, rock, whateva)... |

Alternatively, you could buy a Shuffle. |
thanks anastasia, cool.

Yah so, I got back to Rijeka with my Ipod, and I already had itunes installed on my computer and when I hook up the ipod nothing happens...how do I make the itunes recognize the ipod on a different computer?
|
check on "my computer" and see if it reads there, if it does re-install itunes or something.
but if your computer doesn't read it at all, make sure the cable is plugged in good in both ur ipod and comp. Try restarting your computer too. If neither of those work...sux 2 b u |
Lol...I got it sorted, apparently ipod doesn't much like USB hubs, and I'm using one because I've only got 2 USB slots and they were both taken....it took a bit of rearranging but I got it to work.:yeah:
Ipods are the shit...I love the sound quality...plus, no more scratched CDs that skip every two seconds.. |
i know, whats with all the haters (swimintheundertow)
the only thing that sucks is you have to get a new one every 2 years =( but after 2 years your ipod is so obsolete anyway, your lame if you dont have the new one. |
I've had my 4th generation 20GB for almost four years now. Never had a problem and it still works like charm. My new 30GB video however... I got it this past Christmas and I've had to send it in twice. Go figure.

unless your uber nice with it, but even then... i havent had problems with mine so far(ive had it for 1 year and half) but i know mates who theres only runs for 20 minutes now without a charge |
Quote:
If you notice your iPod isn't holding close to an 8 hour charge, and you still have your warranty, send it in. Oh, and don't use the backlight a lot. |
Actually it's the other way around , if you keep topping it up all the time the battery runs out much quicker.
|
^ True piece of advice/knowledge. Same goes for cellphones, you gotta let them run right down to keep the battery in good condition.
I was really sceptical about iPod's when I first bought mine, heard things about crap battery and screens breaking with the slightest touch and the scroller thingy not working. I've had mine for 3 or 4 years now, I think it's the exact same version as your's Anastasia, 20gigs and black and white. I use the backlight constantly, I've got it set to 2 seconds, still works fine. I can't tell if the battery is good or not, sometimes a charge will last me about a week of use and other times its only two days. I'm just waiting for it to crap out though, and when it does I'm booking a cry into my schedule for said day. Only ever had one problem, I ran it dead one day and I stuck it on the charger and nothing happened. It took two days for it to begin charging again. |
Quote:
Keeping it topped up doesn't count as a full "cycle charge". There's about 300 to 500 discharge cycles to a battery. If you let it run right out, that's one discharge. If you keep "topping it up," it counts as a partial discharge. |
Yes but batteries will last and perform much longer if you consistantly run it down to say 5-10% and charge it, then if you only let it run down to 60% before sticking it on the charger.

Show me where 60% is stated to be better than 5-10%, please. I'm genuinely interested in where you're getting your information from. Quote:
Haha, I'm not some crazy person just pulling this out of nowhere. I own four iPods, for better or worse. I've done my research. Check out: Lithium-ion battery - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia or iPod and iPhone Battery FAQ Guidelines for prolonging Lithium-ion battery life:

What Apple's website itself actually says is..

And you can't totally drain the battery on an i-pod , it shuts itself off before that happens. |
My ipod just froze...didn't take long for it to start ****ing with me now did it? The only thing I did was put a different set of earphones...could that have caused it? How do you turn it off or reset it? Christ...
