Default American Gangster

New Denzel movie, Russel Crowe is in it as well. Ridley Scott directed it.

yea, it is based on a true story and you're right. Before the Departed it had been a decent while since a good gang movie came out.

Why are you surprised Crowe is in something like this? One of his most famous early roles was in the brilliant ROMPER STOMPER, where he played a Nazi Skinhead. A very intelligent well made low budget Aussie film.

I am really hoping this is good. All the elements are there-Great actors, a brilliant visual stylist (Scott), and a gripping subject matter. Fingers crossed.
