I've never subscribed to that belief. I've found better company, compassion, and happiness in animals than humans (most of the time).

I grew up in the midwest and was disgusted by most of the people around me for the way they treated wildlife, for the grotesque redneck things they'd do. How anyone could look at another species and find it to be of less worth than humans is completely beyond me.

(then again I pretty much hate the "country boy/country girl" lifestyle - it just seems so classless, barbaric, even a little stupid.)

That's nice of you to have your own opinion, but quite frankly dear it's a bit ignorant to call somebody's way of life and what they choose to do on their own time "stupid" just because you don't agree with it. Just a thought. I love animals as well, just because people hunt, doesn't make them barbaric. ACTUAL hunters aren't torturing the animals, and it isn't like they are dying in vain, so what is so barbaric and stupid about it? Please explain to me how this is stupid? Thank you.

I'm a country boy, and I am stupid, classless too, haha, but I ain't barbaric. I treat man and beast alike (ie I don't eat or wear either) so it's best not to generalise. I still love ya.
