France! Omfg. They don't really like the English a lot. I would love to do both New Zealand and Australia. When my kids are both over 16, I am planning to take some time out and go travelling, so who knows heh?

Bane of your existence 09-29-2007 10:49 AM

Any other time I'd like to go to Australia, but now I just want to go back to the states. France is alright but Europe's got cooler places. Holland, Croatia, and Prague are all more fun.

CAPTAIN CAVEMAN 09-29-2007 11:35 AM

Scotland again, Orkney, Shetland, the Faroes, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Finland, New Zealand, Ireland, Wales.

Bane of your existence 09-29-2007 11:43 AM

Oh I do really want to go to Norway too. Everyone says it's really cool.

cardboard adolescent 09-29-2007 10:02 PM

I could've gone to UC-Berkeley.. if they'd accepted me.

I want to go to Egypt or Brazil. I might work my way across Northern Africa next summer.

DonnieG 09-30-2007 07:58 PM

Probably Egypt. Wish we could afford it.

The Raiders? What about those Niners? :P

I guess I'll go to France since I took so many years of french in high school.

I don't really care too much about Paris. I want to go other places in France.

Here's where I want to go this summer:
North Africa

Here are my actual choices this summer:
1. Live at my beach house and host random friends on random weekends (not a bad option)
2. Go to Italy with my family (bleh)
3. Live in Britain with this random guy I met this summer (he would bore me after a couple of weeks)
4. Go to Brazil with my boyfriend (spending that much time with him would kill me)
5. Stay in Raleigh and vegetate. (bleh)

I went to Paris this year, it was pretty cool but I didn't warm to it as much as I have other places.

I was meant to be going to Sweden a week today, but that trip got cancelled much to my disappointment. It's always a place I've wanted to visit and yet I'm not really sure why.

I'd love to go to New York/Jersey again, that was the best holiday ever. But for somewhere new I'd like to experience Thailand, and maybe Japan too. Different parts of America would be fun too, oh and Canada would be ace.

Canada didn't really impress me.

Meh, I guess it's purely based on the music scene, that's how superficial I am. But people have told me it's worth the visit too, so could be cool.

I would go to Britain to have a nice music scene. Some pretty sweet bands have come from there

Mouseketeer 10-01-2007 03:52 PM

Aye, but I think there's a 'grass is greener' scenario here. I prefer the bands from across the pond really.

There is the odd good band over here but this summer they've all sounded pretty much the same. There have been some right summer anthems too, but these are usually few and far between. I suppose older bands from over here are very credible, but I don't really listen to that.

We have some cool places here

If I could go anywhere I think I would end up in Texas

Kevorkian Logic 10-01-2007 06:52 PM

Calgary, Vancouver, and some other town about an hour outside Calgary that I don't remember the name of anymore.

Yeah. I don't understand why everyone wants to come here. It's kinda shit.

jackhammer 10-01-2007 07:17 PM

I am going to Margate again this year. It's at the end of Marpath...groan.

jibber 10-01-2007 11:24 PM

countries i'd like to go to again:
new zealand, cambodia, vietnam, laos, thailand, sweden, iceland

countries i've yet to visit and want to see (not particularly in this order):
argentina, chile, bolivia, uruguay, peru, brazil, australia, philipines, malaysia, myanmar (burma), indonesia, china, japan, tibet, india, nepal, ghana, south africa, madagascar, russia, and i'm sure i'll be adding more.

hopefully within my lifetime i'll have been to all of these countries.

DontRunMeOver 10-02-2007 04:02 AM

I'd like to go to China and the US. In China I want to visit Shanghai, Sichuan, Inner Mongolia, Taiwan, Tibet. The US has lots of places I'd like to visit. In particular I'd like to meet some bible-bashers, some rednecks and some cowboys.

Alo 10-02-2007 04:59 AM

France gets boring quite fast, and the people are awful, yet we go there every single year. ><

I'd love to go to Myanmar, I read a book about it a while ago. It was about when it still was called Burma. The landscape and culture sounded so beautiful. It has probably changed a lot since then, but I'm guessing that in the Shan-states there is still a lot of that culture left.

I dunno, I went to France last year for a week and I would love to go back. There was so much to do and see there. Especially the Louvre, I could spend another 2 or 3 days walking around that museum.

Alo 10-02-2007 05:14 AM

Eventhough we go every year, we never went to Paris. I'd love to go there once.

We usually go to local fishermentowns, cute villages, and go sight-seeing in the mountains and stuff like that...

My girlfriend's dad is from there, so if the Junta ever ****s off I might get to go and see his part of the family. Until then I'd stay away - if you do go then sure as hell don't go out in public with a camera or the military will think you're a journalist, shoot you and claim it was a 'stray bullet'!

Oh, and call it Burma. Don't call it Myanmar because that's the name the military regime gave it and they're a bunch of twats.

Switzerland - for the view
Scotland - for the scotch
Netherlands - need I mention why?
Brazil - for the parties

i'm now really regretting I didn't have the time to get over to burma while I was in asia; I would have made it just before the protests broke out. Hopefully the situation will change within the next four years (won't be traveling much while i'm finishing my degree), so i'm remaining optimistic that I'll get there within the next few years.

Hahaha, well pointed out. Taiwan's not part of China and the Chinese are just being tits when they claim it is.

One of the girls in my office is from Taiwan and she pointed out that as China claims Taiwan is part of China it has to let Taiwanese citizens go in and out of China pretty much as they please, whereas Chinese citizens tend to find it difficult to get into Taiwan because Taiwan says it is not part of China. So bonus points to the Taiwanese.
