No, but I could see how it can mess with your head, sometimes I make some hot ass relish with a variety of peppers including habaneros and once in a while it gets waaaay too hot to handle and I feel super relaxed and a bit spacey, almost like a nic buzz.

I had a competition with a male friend once, eating some raw peppers we were using for curry, and he compared the "rush" to that of having sex, intoxicating due to how it suddenly clears your mind because you can't think of anything else... and then there's the "coming" down factor (in a floaty, exasperated sort of way).

Yeah that's how I felt, but god damn just trying to achieve that is far too painful to do ever again, especially when there are easier ways of obtaining that feeling that don't require burning your tastebuds away.

Yeah, I definently make it too hot to handle, but I usually use it to cook with then it loses some heat but keeps the flavor which is good. Sometimes I dip chips into it and I can see where you're friend is coming from, I get pretty pumped up when eating it and when Im finished I lay back and wipe the sweat off my face and just relax, I never brought it up to anyone, but its cool that it isnt only me.

I definitely think there are some endorphins involved in consuming super spicy foods, so you're not alone at all.

Thrice you ever read a book called "Out of It: A Cultural History of Intoxication" by Stuart Walton? If not I highly recommend it, it explains the how mankind has been using whatever available to become intoxicated, but not just how it's exclusive to humans, but other animals as well. Very insightful and well written.
