It's not that bad for you. As long as you drink conservatively. Wine is actually the least bad alcohol you can drink from what I understand.

I wish I was one of those people who could have one and feel OK but I'm not. After that first one I need to keep going and I've always been like it, like the feeling of that first little bit is like 'woah'. I am more of a binge drinker. I think a lot of people are like this. Daily drinking was never a problem for me, I could go weeks without a drop, regularly. It's just once I've started I actually can't stop.

Alcoholism runs in my family but luckily it's been a long time since I've drank any alcohol. Unless it's a beer at a restaurant etc. I haven't been drunk in a while.

Same here. I've wondered how much if any is genetic. Celtic people seem to be affected by this a lot.
