Religion
Why?
Point of view

For Me
Im a staunch atheist
Why because I don't beleive there can be anything greater than me, for I do not like the idea of higher power, and a piece of paper will never rule my life.

Point of View: Religion is a comfort blanket for people refusing to accept their own mortality.

I'm sorry but Tom Cruise is undoubtedly greater than you, please don't delude yourself. I'm basing my stance agnostic(ally) since my view of religion contains no substance. This debate is more sceptical than one on solipsism, you'll never win.

I've accepted the fact that I don't really know what is out there, I'll never actually know until I die, and I might not even know then, so it's not worth it for me to worry about it

You know, I've always thought that assuming people "believe in God for security in their own fate" illustrated that they didn't know much about religion. "Sinners in the hands of an Angry God" alone should stand in start contrast, or the passage that says any half believers will be vomited forth from the mouth of God. Where's the comfort?

The bible is a nice, creative non-fiction story.

I smoke pages of the bible from time to time. :thumb:

Anyways, ive never understood evangelical people, It seems that by forcing their religion, people are less apt to adopt it. Secondly, if there was a God I think he would be a little more forgiving, than all those texts say, because he supposedly created everyhing, so therefore he cretaed the desire for people to go against him. Thus he also must have created atheism if this is true.

If there is a god id think that it would be much more simple than that. More or less, he would have created, but moved on.

Religion is good in theroy, but has become a horrible way of brainwashing people so that they stay under control, and live in fear of god.
Im an atheist all the way...religion is absolutly ridiculous
