Think of it this way: I have enough talent to have been obsessed with drawing, and I wanted to go to art school at some point in my teens, but I don't have enough talent to actually be an artist. So, yeah.

Erm, I'd say you have plenty of talent just on those few drawings, maybe what you lacked is a drive and a sense of calling to be an artist. And stuff.

Marie, your sketches are STUNNING and beautiful and you are extremely talented! I viewed these in a rush last night, got interrupted and misread your post and didn't realize that you were the artist who drew these. I am actually shocked at your abilities. Don't discount your gifts! You are very talented indeed.

Thanks guys, @adi you're absolutely right about lack of drive and discipline, but I'm really not that talented. I don't think practice can make up much for a lack of the kind of spark that makes good drawings come alive. Still I regret that I pretty much stopped drawing in my twenties, with corona I've been feeling motivated to start again, hopefully I finally will sometime soon
