^^ Its awesome don't worry though its that kind of critique of ones own art that allows you to create such visually great things!

Thank you. It's strange, I just feel like it lost the life in it somewhere between my WIP and completed project, but I can't place my finger on it.

This is frankly, a bit crap, because I haven't taken the time to get a good copy of it in natural light. I feel like I ruined it somewhere along the line. I liked it better as lineart. Hm.
I still think it looks great, though I do agree that the line art had a certain special spark to it. I think the issue might simply be the very fact that the charcoal was built on line art. In my experience charcoal works best when it's not based on lines but rather on light and dark shapes. Regardless, you're clearly very good with both mediums. I'd love to see more.

Interestingly, this is the very first time I've ever used ink lineart in a charcoal image, and I would say I still think this has more realism to it than the others I've done, and I think I would continue to do it this way.

I will say though, that I didn't notice a loss of life until I filled in the background with black. I think that really dampened the image, whether it was because of what method I used to fill it in or just what.

We had to do texture, and there was a neat picture I saw on Designspiration that I felt fit nicely, so I went with it. I believe this was my third, maybe fourth real drawing.

Tribute to Amesoeurs. <3 This was my second time working with charcoal. I thought it would work nicely, since there was so much atmosphere.

I'll just post the horrendously large image in URL form

it's a picture of Alice as a skeleton. not the greatest, but I mainly just did it to kill time.
