My brother's always pressuring me to go to an art academy. Meh! I just wanna sleep and listen to music, aaand occasionally spend my time with a pencil. Besides, I can only draw from photos and am not very original myself.

That's some pretty skilled illustration, certainly worthy of an art academy. It would be cool to see that image animated in a sequence- it feels like a still shot. I guess some artists create more from observation than pure imagination. The most astonishingly amazing results, I find, tend to come from artists who can do both.
Do you find it easier to be original if you are given a concept to work with? Or do you draw most of your inspiration from images that capture your attention? Either way, I really like what you accomplished with that drawing |

I can certainly see that, Pedestrian. Your art looks like it came from somewhere within an imaginary construct or vision, but then there's still that grounding in reality that makes it less "cartoon"-like and more sophisticated. Your portraits show your ability to draw from a reference, but there's always a definite personality that comes out in them.
I've haven't seen anything quite like your style before; it's kind of like the sort of thing artists make using Illustrator and post online (for memes, comics and whatnot), but with a kind of interesting grotesque distortion that's really playful and striking. I never know quite what to think or feel when I look at them; but for that very reason they're alluring. |

I lost my passion for artwork over years of focusing on technicality and finding that my aptitude (portraiture) was pleasant, but ultimately not moving for anybody. Sometime in the last year I realized that there isn't a wrong way to make art, and that's really empowered me to explore my imagination. Thank you again! |

No problem! I'm glad your artistic vision is coming across the way you were hoping. I'm not quite there yet, but only time and confidence will get me to that place (I hope). I'll be keeping my eye out for more
