It's available in a 32 GB model. You don't really need to carry around more than that, do you?

SATCHMO 02-18-2008 10:58 PM

To be honest, I was just going to get the 8 GB. That's approximately 1,750 songs, so about 150 albums. Cut that in half when you consider I usually don't download anything under 256 kbps. Thats about 80 albums worth of music. I can live with that. But a 40 or 80 GB ipod would be great to back up all my music with. I don't know, I've literally been agonizing over this decision.

You wouldn't get an Ipod because your computer crashed and lost all its music.............(cont.)

Ipod has my vote, my 30 gig is well over a year 'n' half and only froze for the first time about a month ago, just had to reset it and works perfectly again.

it's some dumb thing that itunes does........if you hook up a hardrive with music on itunes with another computer's hardrive itunes deletes all of your music

I hate both but I like the Ipod better. Its a no brainer that the Zune zucks.

If anyone has some useful info, help me out.

Flash memory is solid state, while hard drive has moving parts. Flash is faster and more reliable, but exponentially more expensive.

Now ya' tell me!!!! Just had winning bid on a 30 GB ipod video (literally, like 5 min. ago). Its the last ipod they made that won't force me to upgrade my operating system. A friend at work, who I thought knew his Sh!t, told me that flash memory was unreliable and that i should wait till' Apple worked any potential bugs out of the Touch. I really wanted the Touch, but I didn't want to go through the hassle of upgrading my OS just to use it. Oh well, my new ipod is shiny, and that's all that matters.

Nosmada 02-19-2008 01:48 PM

I love my ipod i have the 80GB classic, i have movies and tv shows on it i watch in class when i am really bored. Another thing is back-up all your music on a external hard drive, thats what i do.

Inuzuka Skysword 02-19-2008 02:24 PM

I had an 80 GB Ipod, but it screwed over, which I am pretty mad about. Plus, it did this the day my warranty went out. I have yet to see if an Ipod store will repair it for money or something.

It is pretty much saying it i s corrupted when I hook it up to my computer and I can't load music onto it.

I'd recommend that you reformat it then you reinstall the Ipod software (I tried installing Ipod linux on my Ipod but failed miserably)

IPOD. The Zune is microsoft's poor attempt at an ipod clone. I have an 80gb ipod classic i use for my stereo and a 16gb ipod touch (which kicks alot of ass).

I was all prepared to hate the iPod but I've gone through Creative and Archos and recently received an 80GB iPod Classic as a gift. I'm surprised by how much I love not only the iPod but iTunes, as well.
Never tried a Zune but in every review I've read, the Zune still lags behind the iPod.

Maybe for you, but it seems for the rest of the world it works very well. Yes Apple is a bitch with copyrights and all the protection bull**** they impose on you, but that doesn't change the fact that they make an excellent music playing product.

I have owned over 5 different hard drive mp3 players, most of which where not the biggest brand names, and my new ipod classic is far better than any of the previous ones by a long shot.

So obviously you should buy the zune even though the blind zune fanboy just admitted the Ipod was ahead of the zune.

No sir you are mistaken. The Xbox 360 is made with inferior technology and was slapped together just so it could come out before the PS3. The PS3 is starting to get way better exclusive games such as: God of War 3, Grand Turismo 5, Killzone 3, Metal Gear Solid 4, Resistance: Rise of Man, Tekken 6, Warhawk, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, and many more. The online PS Network is free unlike Xbox Live, the graphics are better, it sided with blu-ray discs which by the way won over HD DVD which Xbox sided with, the PS2 destroyed the original Xbox in sales, and of course the PS3 doesn't have the always fun red rings of death.

So there you have it the PS3 is a thousand times better than the Xbox 360 will ever be.

By the way I do not work for Sony I am just an anonymous Xbox 360 hater

Most of those games haven't even come out yet. Xbox Live is free silver your thinking of gold. How can you blame the death of HD- DVD on the XBOX? Can you download movies, games, and tv shows on your waste of $600? Nope
oh yeah if the 360 sucks so much why is it out selling the ps3 even in japan?

I know most of the games haven't come out yet which is why I said they are STARTING to get new exclusive games. The fact still remains that Gold costs money and yes you can download movies, games, and tv shows on the PS3. I'm not blaming the death of HD DVD on the 360 it just shows how well their judgement is. The Xbox 360 is currently outselling the PS3 because it came out a year before and was able to build a larger fanbase in that time. It's too bad they hurried so much to make it before the PS3, maybe it wouldn't be such ****e. If the Xbox 360 and the PS3 came out at the exact same time the PS3 would have sold more, look it up. I am also very eager to hear your comments about the red rings of death, exclusive to the 360.

ProggyMan 03-03-2008 09:04 PM

They're mainly myth. IT does happen, but rarely, and it's not even 4 rings.

I don't think most people are debating that. But it has tons more problems and costs a ton more, therefore making the 360 better.

I have friends that have 360's and they all have gotten the red rings of death. Mainly myth, I think not.

I obviously have a PS3 and I have never had problems with it and don't think it costs a ton more. It costs a little bit more because you actually get your money's worth. I don't see how the Xbox 360 is better than the PS3.

ProggyMan 03-03-2008 09:21 PM

Red rings don't matter. It's the number that counts.

sweet_nothing 03-03-2008 09:23 PM

I have my Xbox for a LONG time no rings except for green ones. Your just made because it's too late for you to return your joke of a ps3. I would be 2 $600 down the drain.
